The EUROPEAN ROAD SAFETY CHARTER sets its first WORKSHOP in th Vilnius on the 20 of December 2013. Indeed, on Friday 20 of December 2013, the University of Vilnius will welcome road safety stakeholders and experts to debate with Lithuanian youngsters on the current issues that they are facing on the road. After coming back from Italy to work on the European Youth Forum for Road Safety, the LiMSA Students (Lithuanian Medical Student Association), represented by the young Rokas LAURINAITIS and Paulius JARUSEVICIUS, are already preparing one of the EYFRS outcome aiming at organizing a Workshop Session to insist on youngsters issues linked with road safety, health and responsibility-taking within Lithuania, also benefitting from the Lithuanian Presidencys outcomes after 6 months at the head of the European Union. The present phase of the ERSCharter, which is running for 3 years (20132016), indeed keeps on promoting the commitment of civil society with a focus on vulnerable road users, especially youth. For its promotion all over Europe, workshops are planned to take place in all the Member States during these 3 years, in order to keep on reducing road fatalities amongst youngsters and follow the EU Road Safety Policy Orientations set up by the European Commission for the decade 2011-2020. The Lithuanian Workshop will be held at the University of Vilnius the entire Friday 20/12 afternoon (from 1pm to 5pm), with an identification of the main national issues, following a debate on the potential actions to take up and campaigns to develop, in order to end up with implementable outcomes in collaboration with the main road safety Stakeholders and engender more specific commitments within the ERSCharter.
