Students are expected to register all the courses they wish to take through the Online Course-Registration System (Academic Affairs Web System) during the stipulated period. Please note that you are not eligible to earn credits from the courses you have failed to register even if you have passed the semester-end examination. Please follow the guidelines on the website below to register courses. (All websites are available in Japanese only.) If you wish to take courses offered at Keio University SFC, and courses offered at Mori Building (Keio University Academy Hills) or other campuses on the same day, you must allow a gap of at least one class period to travel between campuses. Please note that the course timetable is subject to change.

You may consult your Academic Advisor to review your grade reports of previous semesters and ask him/her what assignments you need to work on in order to complete the Program Certificate. Please do not fail to register for Project Courses you are advised to take by faculty member/s. If you have submitted the Thesis Title Application Form, then you must register for [Thesis (2 credits)]. Please make sure to select the applicable category for the courses you are going to register. You can register for undergraduate courses as Optional Subjects. If you wish to extend your enrollment, you must submit the designated form to the Registrar Section stating the semester you are planning to complete the Masters Program.

You must register for Independent Research course conducted by your Main Research Advisor. It is a requirement for completing the Doctoral Program for students enrolling in and after academic

year 2007. Courses other than Independent Research can be registered as Optional Subjects.

You must consult your Academic Advisor before registering for Project Courses as each project is operated differently and uniquely. You must confirm the time and place of the course with your Program Academic Advisor or Project Leader. For Master s Students Only: You are able to earn up to 4 credits from Project Courses per semester. In principle, there are two registration numbers assigned for each Project Course. If you are planning to earn 4 credits from the same Project Course, you must register both numbers. Any Project Course exceeding 4 credits can be registered as Optional Subjects. For Doctor al Students Only: You may register for Project Courses, but the credits earned from Project Courses will be accredited as credits earned from Optional Subjects.

A maximum of 10 credits earned from courses offered by other graduate schools of Keio University may be transferred into the credits of the Graduate School of Media and Governance, if the Graduate School of Media and Governance Committee deems these courses relevant to the research. If you wish to take courses offered by other Keio graduate schools, you should complete [ ] or Cross-registration Petition Form. You must obtain seals/signatures from the course instructors and keep the form ready. If you are registering for courses for credits required to complete the Masters Program, you will also need to obtain a seal or signature from your Academic Advisor. If the course is conducted in fall semester, you may obtain seals/signatures from your course instructors in fall semester. The form can be downloaded from the website below: <http://www.gakuji.keio.ac.jp/sfc/sfc/rishu_m.html> (available in Japanese only) You should check if registration is open before registering for courses offered by other graduate schools. Some courses restrict the number of students who belong to other Keio graduate schools.

(early May for spring semester and mid-October for fall semester) Please make sure that all courses you have registered online are listed on the sheet. Please come to the Registrar Section if: courses listed on [] or Course Registration Confirmation Sheet and the courses registered online are different list has a Japanese stamp requesting you to come to the Registrar Section you have questions regarding the contents of the sheet

You are allowed to make the following amendments to the course registration during the Course Registration Amendment Period. Changes in areas Adding/deleting Thesis courses Adding/deleting Independent Research courses Adding/deleting Project Courses Deleting Project Courses when you registered for more than 2 courses Changing registered Project Curses to Optional Subjects Deleting the courses that are not eligible to register as Optional Subjects You may ask your representative to make course amendments. You must explain changes you wish to make to your representative, so that he/she can make appropriate changes to your course registration. Your representative must carry your [] or Course Registration Confirmation Sheet and an authorization letter at the time of amendment. Please note that you must take full responsibility in case your representative makes mistakes. The revised [] or Course Registration Confirmation Sheet will be sent to you within a week after the Course Registration Amendment Period.

Each course is categorized into areas in the following table. Area categorization will help you read and understand the [] or Course Registration Confirmation Sheet and grade reports better. Masters students who wish to register for courses offered by other Keio Graduate Schools as Optional Subjects must select Section B when they register for courses through the Academic Affairs Web System.
