In Local News The reward for information leading to the arrest of two men who shot and carjacked a man at the Short Hills Mall has grown to forty-one thousand dollars. The victim, 30-year-old Dustin Friedland had just finished an evening of shopping Sunday night and was approached by two men as he and his wife were entering their vehicle. A struggle broke out and Friedland was shot in the head. His wife was forced out the vehicle and the attackers fled in the couples two thousand and twelve silver Range Rover. The vehicle was located Monday morning in Newark. Friedland, a lawyer in the Hoboken (HO-BO-KEN) area, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Funeral services are being held this morning.

New Jerseyians (JER-ZEE-ANS) who tried their luck at last nights Mega Millions Jackpot wont be claiming the JACKPOT but you may have become a million dollars richer. Thats right. Two tickets sold in the Garden State matched five numbers but not the mega ball. The winning tickets were sold in Union and Ocean counties. The Mega Millions jackpot rose to a whopping six hundred and thirty six million dollars, the second largest jackpot in U.S. history. The winning tickets were purchased in California and Georgia.

In National News A 13-year-old girl is now brain dead after having surgery to have her tonsils removed. Jahi (JAH-HEE) McMath had the surgery on December ninth at the Childrens Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, California. The procedure seemed to have gone well and she even asked for a Popsicle after the surgery said the girls grandmother. But suddenly things took a turn for the worse and McMath was then transferred to the intensive care unit where she went into cardiac arrest. Nothing worked to revive her and she is now brain dead. The family wants the teenager to stay on life support as long as necessary and this is where things get legally complicated. So who gets to decide her fate? Well a spokesperson for the hospital said that there is no policy regarding the termination of life support, however, the coroners office may request to do so. Because time is of the essence, the coroners pathologist needs to assess what went wrong and the sooner, the better. But the McMath family wont do so without a fight. They have presented the hospital with a cease-and-desist letter to prevent taking her off life support.

Fellas listen up. Causing someone an achy breaky (BRAKE-EE) heart may now cost you an achy breaky (BRAKE-EE) wallet. Thats right. Well, thats the case in Georgia anyway. Melissa Cooper sued her ex-fiance after he broke his promise to marry her. She claims that the man, Christopher Ned Kelley, ruined her life after cheating on her two times during their tenyear relationship. Kelley says that although he gave her a ten-thousand dollar engagement ring, he never uttered the exact phrase will you marry me? Hmmmmdoesnt seem like thats the way its done and clearly the court doesnt think so either. They ordered Kelley to pay FIFTYTHOUSAND DOLLARS, yes you heard me clear, FIFTY-THOUSAND DOLLARS in damages and legal fees. Let this be a lesson to all. Think twice before you have to pay the price!

In International News Edward Snowden (SNOW-DEN) is reaching out to lawmakers in Brazil in an open letter posted on the website pastebin (PASTE-BIN). He is offering to assist the company in investigating American spying taking place in Brazil. In his letter, Snowden states that he could not speak freely until a country grants him political asylum. He sent a request back in July that has yet to be delivered. Brazilian lawmakers have reacted angrily over reports that the United States was spying on them and was seeking further information into the allegations Snowden made regarding surveillance on the countrys President. The government has yet to respond to Snowdens new letter.

Violence in South Sudan has left an estimated five-hundred people dead and about eight-hundred more wounded and these numbers can continue to rise. Fighting erupted in the capital city of Juba (JU-BA) Sunday right before the President, Salva (SAL-VAH) Kiir (KIR) announced that his security forces halted an attempted coup. Thousands of people have been taken to shelters and more are fleeing the country. Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth told reporters that the situation has calmed down as of today and things are returning to normal. More news, sports, and weather coming up. In Sports A great win for NBA team Golden State Warriors. They beat out the New Orleans Pelicans, 104 to ninety three. And tonight, the Miami Heat will go head to head against the Indiana Pacers possibly without their star player, Lebron (LA-BRON) James. James missed practice yesterday due to a sprained ankle. The two teams played last weekend where the Pacers took the win over Miami. So will James make an appearance for tonights game? Who knows but this is sure to be an exciting game. In hockey, The Flames werent able to score at all against the Bruins losing by two. And the Sabres (SAB-ERS) crushed the Jets last night in a win four to two.

President Obama sent a clear message to Russia regarding their anti-gay laws by choosing two openly gay athletes to represent the United States at the Solchi (SOUL-CHEE) two-thousandfourteen Winter Olympics. Its the first time in over ten years that the U.S. will not send a president, former president, first lady, or vice president to the opening or closing ceremony at the Olympics. Instead, in their place will stand tennis legend Billie Jean King and hockey player Caitlin (KATE-LYN) Cahow (KAH-HOW). The Russian Government has received much criticism for passing laws banning gay propaganda.

In Entertainment Well they dont call her the Queen Bee for nothing! Thats right Beyonce has done it again. And can we say were shocked? Well, YES and YES! The 32-year-old singer released an album on Friday, December thirteenth with not only fourteen songs but seventeen videos as well. And thats not all. No one had a clue that an album was even in the works. There was no publicity, no advertising, nothing at all! So exactly how did the queen pull this off? We have no idea, but clearly shes around a lot of people that know how to keep a secret. In just three days, the album has sold over six-hundred thousand copies!
