Terri Colemans new role as leader of Lincoln Bereans Celebrate Recovery motivated her to study Champions. Links to the two videos for Champions: Participant Testimony of Champions (90 sec): http://vimeo.com/15697417 Powe r of Mentoring (5 min.): http://vimeo.com/15697705
Developing the Heart of a Champion is a personal leadership course that changes attitudes and habits so unemployed & under-employed participants discover their purpose, mission and vision so they can create an action plan in all dimensions of life spiritual, social, family, financial, career, mental, and physical. Mentors are critical for the success of Champions.

Learning Leadership Skills

Terri Coleman (above) wanted to learn skills so her passion could be turned into a vision statement, mission and step-by-step goals. To become a more effective leader, Terri had to retrain her mind in an organized fashion. Learning to set 7-day goals in the areas of family, financial, mental, physical, social, spiritual and vocational life was invaluable as a starting point. It helped to separate her personal and work life. Scheduling time to work on Champions daily was one of her biggest challenges, Terri said, whether it was 10 or 60 minutes. Other things seemed to get in the way like spending time on someone elses crisis. Having a plan helps you stay flexible, she said, to deal with unexpected events. The Holy Spirit provides power to stay balanced and overcome distractions like not picking up a ringing telephone. Because she was a people pleaser her whole life, Terri said constant crisis management prevented her from leading the ministry. Champions is part of the renewal process in training the mind through the power of the Holy Spirit, she said. In the future, I envision Champions having a great opportunity to help people manage life by identifying life mission, purpose and their passio n so they can restructure their life and not let people manage it, she said. Having a laser-like focus shrinks the parameters and identifies how God is directing. Instead of trying to do everything and be overwhelmed, Terri asks God to show who she should work with today. God uses Champions to discipline her mind as it was not part of her background growing up. Her childhood was one of surviving the next crisis, she said. There were no conversations about my passions , what I was good at, or how to set goals.
