can link you to service events you all have enjoyed the vacation so far. It’s almost over! Hanging
with the Las Vegas Hawaiian out with friends and vacationing with family is an awesome way to

to clean a neighbor’s pool… then swim in it! Ask
around to see if any of your family friends need
babysitters. Volunteer at a retirement home. The
elderly always enjoy company. It’s amazing to know
how a simple smile or a cool conversation can go
very far with some folks. You never know, you
might even make a new friend!
Not only can you spend unplanned days
volunteering, but get out there and exercise! Get
some friends together and work out at the gym.
Sunset is the perfect time to take a jog. Working out
can be fun too! Take a dance class. Try something
new like hip-hop class or a hula dancing class.
Whatever you do, make sure it's fun and healthy!
Summer days in Vegas can get really hot; so don't
forget to bring water.
Keeping in Touch
with our Kiwanis!
This month, our very own Secretary B., Nathan
Magtoto, and our District 28 South Lieutenant
Governor, Phillip Tanlim, attended a Kiwanis
Meeting. A raffle was held, and luckily Nathan won
the “Fight Book.” What is a fight book, you ask? It’s
a book which depicts the history of boxing. He
enjoyed the meeting while eating a sandwich,
strawberry cheesecake, coffee and a bit of orange
juice! Mm mm! A casual brunch at Marie
Calendar’s was a good way to keep in contact with
our Kiwanis. Key Clubbers, we must be involved
with our Kiwanis. Invite them to help out at a
service event you are working on or have them join
a Key Club social. Either way, we must always have
them be a part of our Key Club. Kiwanis meetings
are held every Wednesday at Marie Calendars on
Decatur and Flamingo. If five members from our
Valley Key Club attend, then we earn Panda Points!

What’s a better way to spend time with Kiwanis
than with free food?! 
July DCM
This month, the SECTA Social and July DCM
was held at Sunset Park. Many Key Clubbers
attended. Most of the school from Division 28
South attended. It was a fun afternoon at the
park. After the president’s reports were
addressed, the social was held. There was so
much food! Yum! Some members played
volleyball while others hung out and mingled
with fellow Key Clubbers from their division.
We Are the Vikings!
The Regional Training Conference is coming
up on Saturday, October 3, 2009! The theme
this year is “Big Bang” at Cimarron-Memorial
High School. We need to start designing our
RTC t-shirts. So if you have any ideas for this
year’s shirt, please contact a Valley Key Club
board member as soon as possible. Every year,
Valley Key Club makes a grand appearance
dressed all out in red and blue! Extreme props
and ridiculous hairstyles! So this year, let’s keep
the tradition going and make it even better and
more over the top, with a BANG!
August Joint DCM
Come attend the August Joint DCM next
month on August 29th at Canyon Springs High
School. We will be packing backpacks for the
less fortunate. All of the Divisions from our
Region will be present, as well Kiwanis. If you
have any questions, please feel free to contact
any of the board members.
