New courses starting in January!

Introduction to Book Keeping An essential introduction to key skills in book keeping. Ideal as a preparation for employment in this field. The course may also be suitable if you are starting your own business or hold a role as a treasurer for a community group, such as a school PTA, and need some knowledge of book keeping. The course will run on Thursday mornings for 5 weeks starting on 16th January 2014. Students would need to live, work or volunteer in the London Borough of Bromley. Please contact us for more details or to book a place.

Manicure and Nail Art This course will run on Thursday afternoons for 10 weeks starting on 23/01/2014. Students would need to live, work or volunteer in the London Borough of Bromley. Please contact us for more details or to book a place. CSCS We are hoping to run a CSCS course for Affinity Sutton residents. If enough people express an interest we will be able to run this two day course. Please contact us if you would be interested in attending. Teaching Assistant As the current courses have proved so popular, we will be running another Teaching Assistant course starting in February. (students already enrolled need not re-apply) Students will gain Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2 which is applicable to anyone who wishes to work in an educational setting from Primary to Further Education. It is also a good course for parents wishing to gain a better understanding of their childs development, how schools work and the support they can expect for their child. This course is open to students in receipt of benefits. Please contact us for more details or to book a place.

Dare to Age Well Workshop This is a short workshop on Tuesday 21st January for women over the age of 65 giving information about some common age related medical issues. Please contact us for more details or to book a place.

Dare to Age Well Workshops for Women 65+


You are Invited!
We are delivering workshops which provide information on a number of health issues which affect women (such as memory, continence, hearing problems). The workshops are designed to be informative and fun. At the end of the workshop you will be invited, WITH NO OBLIGATION, to take part in a research study which will help us understand whether these educational workshops are useful for women. If you would like to participate then all you need to do is agree to: Have your information used as part of the study Receive short phone calls at three monthly intervals in the next year to answer questions about your health.

Manicure and Nail Art

This course will teach you the basic practical skill to perform simple Manicures and Nail Art. You will also learn how to look after your hands and nails. This course will run at the Mottingham Community & Learning Shop for 10 weeks on Thursday afternoons 12:45 14:45 starting on 23rd January 2014 until 3rd April 2014, with a break for half term on 20th February 2014. This course is free if you live , work or volunteer in the Bromley Borough You will need to provide ID and evidence of living in the UK for the past 3 years
