VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS WEST SACRAMENTO POST #8762

905 Drever Street, West Sacramento, CA 95691 (916) 371-7245

December 2013/January 2014

Comrades:
I would like to thank the Ladies Auxiliary for putting on the Post Christmas Party. I was told that they had a very good turn-out. They had a lot of snacks for all the kids and plenty of gifts from everyone. Thanks to Jean Jones, Dianne Medina, Janis Medina, Theresa Blackmer, River City High School JR ROTC and Gordon Work who played Santa Claus. Thank you everyone for all your hard work. The Post had a second party on December 22, 2013, Sunday. Theresa Blackmer hosted the party and opened it to everyone. They had a lot of great food and karaoke. There was a really good turn-out. Thank you Theresa. The Post was open on Christmas for a 3rd party. Bill Gurr cooked a ham and everyone that attended brought a dish to share. They also had a good turn-out. I think we should do this every year. This is what Christmas is all about. Thank you Bill. I was talking to Henry and Roseanne and they spent their Christmas feeding the homeless. They drove around Sacramento and West Sacramento handing out over 110 meals. Thank you both for your kindness. I would like to remind all members and guests that they must sign in before they can be served at the bar. I have been seeing that there are snide comments and remarks by other members names. This must stop, this is a document required by the ABC and our Insurance Company will be looking at it if any problems arise. If you have comments or remarks to make please use the appointed comment box and your complaint or compliment will be addressed appropriately. Thank you. To all members, our Annual Crab Feed will be on March 1, 2014 Cost is $45.00. We need raffle prizes. Edi Clonce needs everyone to help out to make this event a great success, just like it is every year! Please help out if you can. Thank you. John Spurgin bought the Post a display case. We will install the case under the Post Bulletin Board and will display items that we have for sale, shirts, hats and other VFW items. This display was purchased in the memory of Gary McReynolds, a Past Post Commander. Thank you John for your generosity.
