TeamLuby Update Week of January 2, 2014

Spring Street School

Mrs. Lubys class
Thank you for all the help with our
Snowflake Party before the break.
Everyone had a wonderful time quessing
their Secret Snowflakes and opening their
gifts. I hope everyone enjoyed their
breaks with family, friends,
snow or warm weather
activities,
Hoot the Owl has come to
Spring Street School to help
us raise money through Box
Tops for Education! Each month,
classrooms will have the opportunity to
host Hoot for the month by collecting the
most Box Tops! TeamLuby would love to
have Hoot join us, so start cutting out
those Box Tops!
Our Family Traditions Museum will
be held on Wed., Jan. 15 from 9:15 10:00
AM in the cafeteria. Organizers are due on
Wed. Jan. 8. Invitations will be coming
home soon!
As the New Year begins, we will
continue to focus on a variety of different
writing styles narrative, opinion and
infomative. Math will become more involved
with story problems, longer multiplication
and division as well as fractions. Check out
the websites under TeamLuby for more
practice. Science continues with simple
machines talk with your child about
possible inventions! Social studies focuses
on rights and responsibilities before
heading into the South and Midwest
regions of the US.
