Primary Responsibilities: Ensuring that effective processes and policies are written, in place,
tested and regulated to ensure continued certification to ISO9001:2000 standards. Carrying out
quality audits at all locations. Ensuring all training materials are version controlled, with the most
up to date version available to all on our Intranet.
Responsibility for all IT systems, planning, capacity planning, 1st line maintenance and

Primary Responsibilities: To impart an in-depth knowledge of microcomputers, their operating
systems and a wide range of general business applications and other bespoke courses to Modern
apprentices and Youth Trainees. Helping them develop the Key Skills necessary to enable them
to develop into valued employees by group work to build confidence and the development of
effective communication skills. Giving them the training to improve on their personal
effectiveness, including self-presentation, help with literacy and numeracy by setting of personal
goals and achieving and maintaining work standards.
The setting, supervision and marking of tests and examinations of external examination boards
and maintenance of documentation to the standard laid down by those boards. Assistance in
supervising work in other subject areas and in ensuring that administrative, safety and other laid
down Centre procedures are correctly carried out. Observation of work and welfare of those on
courses and maintenance of discipline and the offering of guidance in with the delegate’s tutor on
individual training programs. In addition, the organisation and instruction of students on external
daytime courses.
In the rôle of tutor, to advise and counsel customers, to update and maintain all records and
documentation with respect to their progress, achievement, welfare and effectiveness to the
appropriate standard. Preparation of final leaving certificates to the required standard and liaison
with the Customer Services team to ensure the smooth transition from Centre training, by helping
to develop training plans and determination of the form, timing and content of the “off-the-job”
training aspect of such placements. Carrying out visits to Work-Placements on a regular basis to
keep work-placement providers up to date on the customer’s progress, to ensure that all those
undergoing training conduct themselves in a professional, businesslike manner.

Employment Desk Officer Ministry of Defence (Manpower)
(Signals Directorate)

Primarily responsible to the Signal Officer in Chief for recommending manning levels for all Signal
units world-wide. Specifying problems and highlighting solutions, meeting deadlines. By
rationalisation of manpower resources, able to accomplish a five percent reduction in manpower
requirements and hence a saving of some five hundred posts to achieve a total working strength
of some ten thousand five hundred men. Dealing with external agencies and Headquarters
throughout the UK.
Secondary tasks included:- Research, forward planning, compilation, publication and circulation
of a database with global distribution to enable, in the event of Army Mobilisation, the rapid re-
deployment of reinforcements world-wide.
Visiting units, world-wide to advise and assist, when requested, in planning and organising cases
for manpower assistance and increases, and to prepare for visits of Manpower Audit teams.
Routine correspondence on a daily basis, on all aspects of manpower policy, including production
of briefing papers to Director Level and above.

Employment Training Officer 28 (BR) Signal Regiment
(NORTHAG) Germany

Primary responsibilities:- Planning and implementation of a Military training programme for 600
Officers and Men of the Regiment; which included twelve week-long promotion courses per year,
culminating in tests, both written and practical for junior staff, covering: First Aid, Map reading,
Tactics, Nuclear, Biological and Chemical protection, Geneva conventions, Skill at Arms and
Military Law; all required prior attendance at specialist external training centres. Also responsible
for updating the entire staff on any changes to any of the above subjects and mandatory annual
assessment and testing where required. Responsible for setting preparatory pre-course training
for personnel attending Trade upgrading courses in the UK.
Secondary tasks included:- Commanding a computerised control communications vehicle,
handling up to thirty telegraph circuits to other NATO National Headquarters when the Regiment
deployed to its War rôle. Supervising and motivating the operations team, ensuring the routine
operation of computing and communications; contributing to capacity planning, security, disaster
recovery and contingency planning. Dictating policy on all aspects of communications
procedures to be employed, including the Technical Authorship of operating manuals to allow this
aim to be achieved.

Primary responsibilities:- Production and management of standard operating procedures to


enable the Gurkha operators to provide all aspects of communications support to the military
community within Brunei. Planning of all secure telegraph links, for onward transmission of data
world-wide via Hong Kong. Responsible for all aspects pertaining to the safe custody and
handling of all communications, equipment, documents and sensitive material within the Garrison.
Encryption, Decryption and safeguarding of Military and Diplomatic Communications at the
highest level.
Secondary responsibilities:- Responsible for the Administration, Discipline, promotion, career
planning, training and welfare of thirty Gurkhas and their families.
Subsidiary employment as a trained paramedic member of the Jungle Search and Rescue team.
