ANNOUNCEMENTS Church Officer Elections & Nominations It is again time to elect church officers for the new year and nominate prospective officers for 2015. One man will stand for election at the January congregational meeting: David VanDyke (elder). Elder David VanDyke has completed a one year sabbatical, and has been approved by session to stand for re-election to the office of elder. If our candidate receives a majority vote of confidence at our Congregational Meeting, he will be installed shortly after the election to serve a 3 year term. Session will also receive nominations in January for prospective candidates to the office of Elder or Deacon to serve in 2015. Those who are communicant members in good standing may make nominations. Male communicant members in good standing are eligible to be nominated as follows:
1. Please make your nomination in writing and include your signature and the date. Hand the nomination to a member of session. These names will be kept confidential. 2. Each man who has been nominated will be asked to join the Officers' Training Course that will be offered in 2014. A small amount of reading and homework will be assigned. During the course of this year, the men will be asked to prayerfully examine themselves to discern whether they believe God is calling them to this ministry at this time. 3. After the course has been completed, nominees for the office of Elder and Deacon who have faithfully attended the classes will be examined by the Session. Then, the names of those who have been certified by the Session will be announced to the congregation for its prayerful consideration. Only at this point will we have official candidates. 4. Finally, the congregation will elect any Elders and Deacon candidates at the 2014 Congregational Meeting.
