Mrs. Lubys class Winter is in our midst and we are back on track! Please remember to send sneakers with your child if he/she wears boots to school. Boots are very warm and uncomfortable to be wearing all day. Remember those Box Tops for Education! We will collect labels in the classroom before sending to the office for official counts! Hoot can be ours for a month! We could use business-sized envelopes (long white) for our pen pal letters if anyone has a few extras at home. We will also be creating Valentine cards for local elderly housing centers in early February. If you see any cool stickers, stickie foam shapes, doilies, or other fun Valentine Day supplies, please send them in. We will be asking for parent volunteers to help. Date TBA. Please have your child continue with Scootpad assignments and Spelling City on- line. Media Wednesday Homeworkopoly returns this week.
Dont forget sneakers on Tuesday and recorders on Wednesday!

Language Arts We will complete our Andrew Clements literature group projects early this week. We will then learn about different types of extreme weather as well as the great flood of 1919 in Boston! We will have an ELA MCAS practice on Wednesday. Conventions - To be or not to be its about linking and helping verbs.
Writing
We will complete those extended endings we didnt get to last week and move onto informative writing.
Math As was mentioned last week, traditional long division will be stressed this unit. There is plenty of graph paper in the home Math Reference folder if you are working with your child at home. Social Studies Children will bring in their Family Traditions and Artifacts organizers by Wed. for us to revise/edit and finalize in class in preparation for the museum on Wed. 1/15. We continue with rights and responsibilities of the Bill of Rights and other amendments to the Constitution.
