Essay Introduction: The 31st August is the most important day in the history of Malaysia.

On this fortunate day our country became free after many centuries. The British left Malaysia with bag and baggage. Preparation for the day: We celebrate this day with great zeal every year. This year great preparations were made in the school. Every one of us was eager to take part in the Independent Day Celebration. The vice principal drew up a programme which was announced by the principal earlier. Programme of the Day: Early in the morning a week before the momentous day, we gathered in the Conclusion: Thus we celebrated our Independence Day in our school. This day always remind me of the untold sacrifices of the fighters of freedom. We should worship those patriots who shed their blood for achieving Freedom. 0. And every year since that momentous event in 1957, Malaysians of all races proudly celebrate the anniversary
of their independence.This year 2012,........ 54th inpendence day celebration.

1.The first Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj spearheaded the effort for
independence, in negotiations with the British in London for Merdeka, or Independence. 2.On this glorious day Allahyarham Tunku Abdul Rahman proudly declared the independence day of Malaysia by shouting out "Merdeka" seven times followed in unison by all walks of life at the Merdeka Stadium . 3. Malaysia is a role model for other developing countries, and shown that people of different cultures and

religions can live together in mutual respect while maintaining their unique identities and their own traditions and customs 4. During the Merdeka month, the Malaysians need to show their patriotism towards the country by

raising the Malaysian flag wherever possible - along the streets, houses, office premises and also vehicles.
5.Kuala LUmpur is undoubtedly the epicenter of the celebrations for' Hari Merdeka'. 6.On this day, Malaysians from all backgrounds, race and religion celebrate together in a

harmonious way. - a grand and colourful parade is held at the Merdeka Square in Kuala Lumpur, where people can attend and celebrate. Gov agencies and other sectors joined together to flaunt their shows and mascots. - march in front of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong (the King), ministers, special guests and a sea of spectators.
6.Activities: They proudly don their traditional costumes and hold a parade in various venues around the country in celebration of freedom, self-determination and unity.A royal procession, band marching, cultural performances, military demonstration, intricate floats, colourful bandwagons with mascots and other activities fill the day.-the usual flag waving, a parade, military presentation, and lots of cultural activities.
