Catholic Schools Week Schedule

St. Mary School Vineland, NJ Catholic Schools Week 2014 January 26 February 1 Theme: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service This year marks the 40th anniversary of Catholic Schools Week. Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service is the theme for Catholic Schools Week 2014, the annual celebration of the high quality, faith based education the nations Catholic schools provide. The observance is scheduled for January 26 to February 1. The 2014 theme encompasses several concepts that are at the heart of a Catholic education. First, schools are communities small families in their own right, but also members of the larger community of home, church, city and nation. Faith, knowledge and service are three measures by which any Catholic school can and should be judged. The Catholic Schools Week logo (found above) features a swirl of colors interacting around a cross, which is at the center of all Catholic education. The vibrancy of the colors and the movement and shadows in the logo portray the inner-connectivity and community life that are present in our Catholic schools.

Sunday, January 26 (Beginning of Catholic Schools Week) The 10:30 Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Pompeii Church (St. Padre Pio Parish) will begin the opening celebration of Catholic Schools Week. All parents and students of St. Mary School are encouraged to attend the 10:30 Mass. Students are requested to wear their school uniforms to Mass so that parishioners can see all the wonderful children that attend our school. Many students of various grade levels will be participating in parts of the liturgy. Lets fill the church to the rafters!!!
