IT SEEMS LIKE I KEEP REPEATING MYSELF, but here goes
again……W O W ! How else can you explain Sunday morning? The
presence of the Lord was here in a mighty way. The reason? WORSHIP.
How the Lord longs for His people to worship Him. As a matter of fact,
we were created to worship and praise the Lord. Let me encourage you to
practice your worship. Practice early in the morning, in the middle of the
day, late at night….just practice all day long. Worship when you feel
good and when you don’t, when things are going well and when they
aren’t, when you’re happy and when you’re sad. Just WORSHIP HIM!
Worship has the capability of getting us out of the middle of our
circumstances and troubles. Worship reminds us how big our God is and
how small our problems are. Worship elevates God. Just WORSHIP.
WHY SHOULD YOU WORSHIP? First, because you LOVE Him…
because of Who He is and for what He’s done in your life. You should
worship because you KNOW Him. I didn’t say you know about Him, but
you really know Him and He knows you. You should worship him
because you are thankful. “Oh, be thankful unto Him and bless His
name.” I truly believe that free, uninhibited worship is a major key in
seeing God do what He wants to do in our church. I am ready to become
a “changed worshipper.” Are you willing to allow God to change your
worship from what it’s been into something that moves His heart?
COMMUNITY REVIVAL: The countdown is on! Just another few days
and we’ll be joining together with people from all around this area. Mark

prayer support, ministry support, but most of all you attendance is needed
to make this meeting a success.
FALLFEST…We are so excited about this year’s festival. We look
forward to a wonderful time together and having something great to offer
our people and community. OCTOBER 3 rd, 11 AM-6 PM is the day and
time. Please make your plans to come and help, either by getting involved
or by coming to spend the day with us….and don’t forget about spending
some money! ! This is a fundraiser for our Building Fund. (If you would

OCTOBER4 th, the Roy Knight Singers will be with us for the Morning
Worship service and at the Big Tent on the property at 4:00 P.M. On

Friday evening, OCTOBER 2 , we’re asking all the workers who will be
involved and anyone else who would like to join us to meet on the
property around the rock altar. We’ll have a special time of prayer for our
FALLFEST, and special singing. Time will be announced.

held Saturday, October 10 at 1:00 P.M. at Village Greens. $100 will
sponsor a hole with your business name on a tee box, and cost is $60 per
person or $240 per team. Entries and money are due October 2nd . See

SOFT DRINK FUND RAISER - Orders are now being taken for
soft dinks and bottled water with proceeds going to the Building
Fund. Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and Diet Mountain Dew
will be available by the case for only $5 each, and 20 oz. Dasani
Water by the case will cost $6. Orders must be placed by
September 20th, and you may do so by contacting Brad Burnett.
COMMUNITY CHOIR REHEARSALS are scheduled for Sept.
15th at Cavins Baptist Church at 7 PM, Sept. 19th at WCOG at 10
AM, and Sept. 27th at First Baptist Church at 4:30 PM.
CHOIR will wear black this Sunday, September 20th .
SPECIAL THANKS to everyone who helped with the Block
Party last Saturday. Whether you donated, cooked, or served food,
or helped in any other way, THANK YOU. Todd and Vickie
Porter are to be commended for their dedication in our Music
Ministry and using this venue to reach out to our community.
They are now celebrating 3 years with WCOG, and we are so
proud of them and wish them many more years with us.
YOUTH - Wednesday “Wear ACTS Shirt to School &
Church”. Youth Drama Practice is Sunday at 4:30 P.M.

Sometimes the battle
Is too much to bear
Overcome by the struggle
When our strength is not there
We persevere forward
With each passing day

And not lose our way
Obstacles stand before us
There are mountains to climb
Valleys to go through
Face storms over time
But in our darkest hour
When fear starts to set in
God’s power is revealed
And we’re strengthened within
When we’re at our weakest
God lifts us up
His grace is sufficient
More than enough
Courage is found
Through one simple prayer
We are not alone
For God’s always there
There’s not a trial in life
That we go through each day
That we can’t find God’s strength
He always makes a way
So hold on to God’s promise
