EXAMS ARE DIFF: Most marks are MCQ Clinical questions Not many repeats Paragraph questions for MCQs Histology Card signings are 10 min. long and they are not as long COMPENSATION GRADIENT IF YOU PASS ALL CLASSES BUT FAIL ONE YOU CAN PASS THAT FAILED MODULE BY PASSING 11/12 EVEN DOUBLE MODULES COUNT 2 modules per day Go to anatomy revision practical (Caroline and Robert will tell you lots of hints) Practice SNQ (they dont repeat questions) EXAM STUDYING HEALTH: - Take naps, eat food and drink water - Email SARA if they dont have you in a room - Bring a wrist watch - STUDENT ID IS VERY IMPORTANT - Arrange for 2 friends to call you if you are pulling an all nighter - SNQ in black or blue pen (write ID number on top of every single page before even looking at the question) ANATOMY: - 10 min CS - Dress up in a washed white coat (where shirt and tie and dress coat) - Get there 30 min. before - Surface anatomy - Very general questions - Study with a friend and have them put you on a spot - PRACTICE PULSES - Go through vids and quizzes - Test on professional dissections (these are professional cut not the destroyed ones from this semester usually have no fat and have no colour on them) - Will start with the bone and then go into muscle - DERMATOMES ARE IMPORTANT - PTL practice sessions for nervous students - When handed a bone always hold it to where it is usually articulated within the body - Have ID card in your pocket - in one day in the other (ask friends for types of questions those later on in the day get asked harder questions)

HISTOLOGY: - STUDY THIS - Can be between pass and fail - WILL USE SAME LABELS AND STAINS - DONT SKIP OVER THE SIDE PANELS - Do the online step by step thing - Look through it min. 4 times - MCQ PART IS ESSENTIALLY PICTURES (quizzes and crosswords are important pictures are in colour) NM: - 30 MCQ 55% - Anatomy is helpful - BLUE BOOK PRACTICE THE CLINICAL CASE STUDIES - 3SNQ = 1 ANATOMY, 1 MUSCLE, 1 NERVOUS QUESTION/PHARM HIS: AS: 45 MCQ 52.5% worth twice as much because it is a double module ANATOMY is really important 6 SNQ = 2-3 anatomy, 1 digestive, GI, Reproductive, 1 Pharmacology, 1 Liver Physiology, 1 Stomach Physiology Mark you up for getting things right (DO NOT LEAVE THINGS BLANK) o Bullet points are important (dont draw things if you dont know how to) o Use YouTube to look at specimens KNOW THE EMBRYLOGICAL MATERIAL Challenging exam because it is SUPER CLINICAL 30 MCQ 70% Understand the haematology and immunology Go over pharmacology GO OVER HIS 3SNQ = 1 haematology, 1 immune, 1 pharmacology (it is really hard and make sure you understand it really well) Know first line treatment drugs (severe side effects) BASIC CONCEPTS OF IMMUNOLOGY BRS: microbiology and immunology is a good resource USMLE step 1 is also a good buy IGNORE THE NEW DRUGS MENTIONED AT END OF LECTURE KNOW THE MAJOR SIDE EFFECTS OF THE DRUGS
