Act 2, Scene 3 (Ruth and Beneatha are slowly packing their and they are talking about things.

) Beneatha I cant wait to move in our new house! Whats the first thing that you are going to do when you move in? Ruth Oh, boy! The first thing that imma do when I move in is take a nice hot bath! Beneatha Oh wow! That sounds nice! I might as well do that too! Ruth Im definitely looking forward to it! Walter is looking forward to moving now too. He was so romantic last night. We went to the movies and held hands. Beneatha Wow! Its good to hear that Walter is changing!

(Walter walks in and plays some music, and starts dancing with Ruth.) Ruth Oh, Walter! Youre so romantic! This is so much fun! Walter Baby, I just cant wait to move in! Im trying to enjoy my last moments in this house!

(A man named Karl Lindner appeared at the door. Walter opens it.) Karl Lindner Hello, how are you today kind sir. My name is Karl Lindner and Im a part of the Welcoming Committee for Clybourne Park. Is Mrs. Younger here? Walter Im fine, sir. Mrs. Younger is not present right now. My name is Walter Younger, Mrs. Youngers son. Ill talk with you. Come on in. Karl Lindner Alright, thank you.

(Karl Lindner comes in and gets situated.) Karl Lindner Well, I am here to discuss your presence in the community of Clybourne Walter Wait, what you mean by our presence? Are you saying that we dont belong in Clybourne Park anything? Karl Lindner No, I dont mean anything like that. Im just saying that we have been a white community for many years so far and all of the African-Americans that move there get terrorized. Im just here to protect you. I will make an offer. How about I offer you a little extra money Walter Well that will be enough right there, Mr. Lindner. We dont want any of your money. You better get on going on. Karl Lindner But Mr. Younger! I can negotiate a good plan with you. Please listen. Walter Nope. That will be fine thank you. You better leave right now, Mr. Lindner. Your wife must be worried sick.

(Walter slowly pushes Mr. Lindner out of the door. After a short while, Mama comes in.) Mama Hey, guys. Hows everything going? Preparing to move out? Walter Mama, some guy from the Clybourne Park Welcoming Committee came in and offered us more money to not move in. But dont worry, I refused his offer.

Mama Well that sounds bad. I have some doubts about moving now. Walter Dont be so doubtful, Mama. We will settle in nicely.

(Walter leaves and gets a phone call from Bobo.) Bobo Hey, Walter. Did you hear about what Willy Harris did? Walter Nah, what happened, Bobo? Bobo He used all of the money to invest in the liquor store! Aint that great?! Walter What! He used all of the money! What in the hell would he do that!

(Walter hangs up and begins to pray for a solution to his problem.)
