ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Training Course "Learn, Involve,Lead" aims at helping participants to identify key personal characteristics and qualities and explore aspects of effective leadership both in their personal life and in their youth organisations . By being active in their organisations to influence the society, to act for a change and to create new opportunities for themselves and their peers. The training course will take place in Yerevan,Armenia and will last 7 days (excluding travel days) from 09-17 March 2014. The Training Course will involve 24 participants from Armenia,Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova,Turkey,Italy,Spain, Romania (3 participants from each country). The purpose of this training course is to empower youth leaders and youth workers with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to be leaders, to influence the society and to strengthen the co-operation between European NGOs and develop future activities in the framework of Youth in Action programme.The TC also aims at developing the sense of active citizenship and to enable young people to take part in further developments and decision making processes both in their own life and life of their society. By developing the leadership skills and competences the young people will be able to increase chances of employability,since the unemployment is a growing threat for young people all over Europe and it creates poverty and exclusion thus affecting the life of society. The training course will combine the principles of non-formal education and experiential approach based on participants needs, motivations and experiences by using intercultural learning methods and tools such as games and exercises, group presentations, workshops, debates, role plays, forum theatre, open space,outdoor activities and team building.

PARTICIPANTS
The participants of the training course should be youth workers, youth leaders, volunteers actively involved in their youth organization and interested in the topic. 24 participants (3 participants from each country) Armenia, Georgia, Italy, Spain, Romania, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkey.

The working language of the project is English!

We expect participants to be at least 18. Please respect the gender balance in your group!

DATES
The Training Course will be held in Yerevan, Armenia from 09-17 March, 2014. Arrival Day 09 March , 2014. Departure Day - 17 March ,2014. Early arrivals or late departures will be the own responsibility of the participants. According to the guidelines of YIA program the travel back must be realized by participants on direct way within maximum of 2 days. In case of longer stays or indirect travel (holiday travel, etc) there is no chance of reimbursement.

VENUE The Training Course will be held in Yerevan, Armenia. The participants will be accommodated in JRs House Hostel in double or triple rooms, with shared bathroom . Towels and bed sheets will be provided. Hostel has all the facilities and free WIFI. Here are some pictures of the hotel:

Accommodation , 3 meals per day, 2 coffee breaks will be covered by the organisers.

LOCATION The Hostel is situated near the center of the city ,the nearest metro stop is 5minutes walking distance from which it takes just 5 minutes to get to the city center, its easy to get to the city center also on foot about 20 minutes walking.

PREPARATION FOR THE TRAINING COURSE:

INTERCULTURAL EVENINGS: Prepare for our intercultural evenings. Participants should bring some typical food and drinks from their country . You will also have a chance to present Your country presentation should take not more than 2-3 minutes. Be creative!!! Share with other participants things that are interesting (which cannot be found on Wikipedia or YouTube!). NGO FAIR Participants will be asked to present/promote their NGO during our Organization Fair Maybe a small speech which will explain what the NGO stands for and even some promotional material to give out to our other participants.(brochures, photos, presentations, examples of previous projects etc.).

TRAVEL INFO Once you have been accepted as a participant in this training course we will give you the green light to arrange your travels. * Participants need to fly to Yerevan (capital of Armenia). Participants will have to take bus to the hostel. The detailed information about transportation will be sent once we have the exact time of your arrival.

TRAVEL COSTS & REIMBURSEMENT 70% of your travel expenses will be covered by the organizers with the support of Youth in Action Programme. Following the guidelines of the YiA program the travel back must be realized by the participants on direct way within a maximum of 2 days. In case of longer stays or indirect travelling (holiday travel etc.) there is no chance of reimbursement of travel costs. The reimbursement will be done at the end of the training course in cash after getting all original documents.

IMPORTANT: Please collect everything: tickets, boarding passes, receipts, original invoices!
Electronic tickets will be considered only when presenting a corresponding proof of payment.

REMEMBER ! NO TICKETS- NO REIMBURSEMENT!!!!!

Note: Please note if you bought your ticket in your local currency which might be different than EURO, we will calculate your travel costs according to the exchange rates from official European Commission web-site for the month of ticket purchase:

There is participation fee of 30 euro per participant.

VISAS: Participants from Turkey will need to apply for visa! This can be done either upon arrival in the airport in border-control point or before arrival by using e-visa system. Pease consult : http://www.mfa.am/en/visa/ for detailed procedure. Visa costs are reimbursed 100%.

USEFUL INFORMATION: MONEY Currency in Armenia is ARMENIAN DRAM (AMD) 1 EURO = 530 AMD You can exchange money in banks, or in many exchange points. WEATHER Weather in March in Yerevan is about 15-18 degrees during the day, and 10-15 degrees during the night. Bring some warm clothes. Also it can rain so take your umbrella.
