Multi-Media Computer-Based Training Course

What is included?

The full course is based on CD-ROM and

consists of video animations, text, voice-overs
and interactive exercises. The training given is
equivalent to a three-day classroom-based
course - and this is contained within eight
free-standing lessons.

A full course synopsis is shown overleaf. In

addition there is a student self-assessment
quiz for both pre and post-course testing.

It is important that your training materials

are kept up to date and our licences are fully
inclusive of our comprehensive maintenance
and update service.
Target Audience
Parts of this course will have benefits for anyone
who works in a project oriented business
environment. Since risk is a part of everyday life
as well as projects, many of the principles
covered are relevant to personal and work-
related situations.
The primary target audience for this course are
project managers who have had some experience
of, and training in, managing projects but have
not yet had specific risk-related training.
Project sponsors will also benefit from an
understanding of the material contained in this
course with topics such as Project Appraisal
being extensively covered. Such knowledge could
result in dramatic improvements in return on
investments.
Why computer-based training?
Technological improvements and advances in
educational design mean that modern cbt is no
longer just a low-cost alternative to traditional
training methods. In many respects our course-
ware offers training which is superior to the
majority of available classroom options.
Not only is the effectiveness of the training process
enhanced - but the convenience and cost-efficiency
of cbt make it a compelling option for training in
hard or non-interpersonal skills areas.
Computer Pre-Requisites?
This is a full multi-media software package and as
such, increasing the specification of your
computer will always improve the presentation
quality. To provide a basic level of satisfactory
performance the following minimum specification
is recommended:

Pentium 100 or better processor

Windows 95/NT or 3.11, 16Mb RAM

Min 8x CD-ROM, Sound card & speakers

SVGA Graphics, 10MB Hard disk

The PM Portfolio
This course is the foundation module for our PM
Portfolio range of cbt courses covering all aspects
of project and programme management - from
basic to advanced levels. For more details contact
us at the address shown.
Projects always imply uncertainty and uncertainty always implies risk. The
outcome of any project is never a foregone conclusion and project sponsors must
understand that when they invest in a project they are, in effect, gambling.
One of the few certainties about projects is that they will involve risk and because of
this those risks need to be planned for and managed in a rational and methodical
manner.
This multi-media training course sets out a basic approach to the problems of
identifying, quantifying and managing risk in a project environment. Many of the
common techniques of both risk analysis and risk management are covered in a way
which is designed to provide practical, down-to-earth guidance on this wide and
varied subject.
