I hope you enjoyed our snowy long weekend. I would like to thank so many of you for coming to our Artifacts and Family Traditions Museum last Thursday. It is one of my favorite events of the year. 1/20 ML King Day No School 1/21 Math Club Tuesday

asked to participate in the Cambridge Science Festivals Curiosity Challenge. They will need to write an essay, create a poem or draw a picture about something they are curious about and tell how it prompted them to explore your world. Students are also allowed to take a picture or use clip art if they wish. The specifics of the challenge are coming home in an informational packet on Tuesday. ELA We have begun our unit on informative writing. We will analyze several informative writing pieces before beginning to write a piece of our own. Additionally, we will look at improving our open response writing. Read Aloud Rose and Ben are both in New York and they are both looking for something. Ben continues to search for his father and has made a new friend at the museum. While we do not know who Rose is searching for, we know she is very unhappy and lonely. It will be very interesting to see how the two stories unfold.

Math We will complete Unit 6. Students need to practice math facts nightly. Please visit www.everydaymathonline.com as often as possible Social Studies
As we begin our travels into the warm climate of the South Region, we will learn what everyone already knows about the area! States and Capitals cards will be coming home.
