BRIEF ON SIA HOP-ON BUS

1. 1.1. BACKGROUND The SIA Hop-on Bus is an air-conditioned hop-on / hop-off bus service that plies in a loop around ethnic districts and major shopping centres in Singapore. The service adds value to the Singapore Airlines stopover proposition as it is free for Singapore Stopover Holiday (SSH) customers, and discounted for passengers with a SQ or MI boarding pass. The contract with the incumbent operator, SH Tours, expired on 31 March 2013. The contract with a new operator, DUCK & HiPPO, begins on 01 April 2013. The list of DUCK & HiPPO sales counters is shown in Annex A. KEY CHANGES Current Four buses; an average bus interval of 30 mins. (i) Open-top buses Four 40-seater single-deck trolley buses. (ii) Wheel-chair support facilities No wheel-chair support on all buses. (iii) Multi-language streaming Audio commentaries broadcasted in English and Mandarin. Ticketing (i) Ticket prices Free for SSH and SIA Holidays customers; S$6 (adult) / S$3 (child) for SQ and MI passengers; S$12 (adult) / S$6 (child) for all other passengers. (ii) Ticket validity Ticket is valid on the day of purchase. (i) Sentosa Rhino Feeder No free rides on other bus services. From 01 April 2013 Five buses; an average bus interval of 20 mins. (i) Open-top buses Three 72-seater buses with an open-top upper deck (Hippos) and two 44seater single-deck coaches (Rhinos). See Annex B for images. (ii) Wheel-chair support facilities The three open-top buses1 can accommodate up to 2 wheel-chairs. (iii) Multi-language streaming Audio commentaries in 7 languages English, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Bahasa, German and French. Three more languages Spanish, Vietnamese and Russian will be added from 01 May 2013. (i) Ticket prices Free for SSH and SIA Holidays customers; S$8 (adult) / S$4 (child) for SQ and MI passengers; S$25 (adult) / S$15 (child) for all other passengers2. (ii) Ticket validity Ticket is valid for 24 hours from the time of purchase. (i) Sentosa Rhino Feeder Free rides on DUCK & HiPPOs Sentosa Rhino Feeder (see Annex C).

For passengers with a SIA Hop-on Bus ticket Simply present your SIA Hop-on Bus ticket to the Sentosa Rhino Feeder bus driver. For passengers with SSH or SIA Holidays identification card Simply present your SSH or SIA Holidays identification card to the Sentosa Rhino Feeder bus driver. For passengers with a SQ or MI boarding pass Simply purchase a SIA Hop-on Bus ticket at a DUCK & HiPPO sales office (at SIN Flyer or Suntec City) or on board the SIA Hop-on Bus.
