Paranoid is a novel written by Vasca Vannisa, and edited by Evelyn Freya Pandora. This story tells us about a story based on the paranoid girl point of view, named Gebi. This is kind of thriller story. This book was published by Fatamorgana Publisher in 2011. It has 183 pages. The size is 13 x 19 cm. This book is based on reality and the girl named Gebi is still alive. This story is about a couple who have planned to get married. They are on the way home from Aldi, Gebis fiance hometown in Medan. Gebi and Aldi go to Jakarta from Medan by car. When they are on the way home, they stop in a petrol station. There, Aldi wants to go to the restroom and let Gebi wait him. But theres one weird thing happens. Aldi doesnt come back until night. That thing really makes Gebi afraid of him. In other side, Gebi feel some strange things when she was waiting Aldi in petrol stations. She saw weird acts of people there. Suddenly she saw people riding a car like theres a parade. But another weird thing she saw, the people who join that parade dont use a good clothes, but they use dark and dirty clothes. When she saw into the car the people follow, she saw her fiance, Aldi was asking for her help. After look at that, Gebi instantly go to the police office, and there she meets Arif and other policeman. All the policeman argue about the statements Gebi has told. Gebi said that she couldnt ride a car, but the policeman ask the witness, and the witness said that Gebi ride the car by her own. All the different statements have made policemen being complicated. And then Gabi gets a call from Aldi. But theres no one answer Gebis voice. But when Gebi ask whether Aldi doesnt want Gebi to search him, he just answer Yes. When the night comes, Arif, the policeman bring Gebi to the nearest hotel. And there, Gebi still feels complicated about weird things shes been going trough without Aldi. And suddenly she realize that Arif has a bad plan to Gebi. She run away from that hotel. She finally arrived to a prostitution place, and asks someone there if he ever saw Aldi. And that man said that there are 2 men who bring Aldi there. One of them is a policeman. Gebi is being more complicated. But she believes she still has one hope. She goes again to place she doesnt ever know. She finally meet an old man named Benhack, she thought Benhack could help her. Then they go to the police office to take Gebis car. in the car, that old man told Gebi about the story about his daughter, and the story he told is same with all things happened to Gebi. Gebi feels strange, but she keep believing that she could help Aldi. They finally decide to go to restaurant. In the restaurant, bad things happens. The policeman come to get Gebi. Gebi hide under the table. And the policemen killed restaurant owner. Gebi and Benhack run away, get a car, and go more further they could. And then they arrived to a town named Kota Penyesalan. A woman ask her to get a rest in her house, and until shes done, she dreamt about Aldi and decided to go to the city.

In the city, Gebi feels there are strange things with that city. In the city there are no middle high school, and there are no houses of worship like Mosque and Church. She goes to a senior High School, SMU Pelita Harapan and there, another weird thing happens again. Shes back to her past, when she was in Senior High School. All the bad memories finally remembered by Gebi that she ever did something that make Erik future gone. She makes Erik disease aids. Then Benhack bring her to go to a fair. And in that fair Gebi remember all the bad things happened with her when she was kid. Somebody told her that town is a regret town. They arrived in Kota Harapan Baru, there Benhack left Gebi alone. She meets Aldi there. They decide to continue their trip to Jakarta. But Aldi doesnt want they to go to Jakarta Gebis in the hospital now. Shes comma for 3 days and a policewoman asks her about the things that happened to her. Gebi said that its 2001 now, but the fact is, now is 2010. The policewoman feels something strange about that woman. The doctor said that Gebi has a paranoid syndrome. All the story that has done is only in her mind. Gebi is a girl with Skizofrenia syndrome. In this story, we can conclude that Gebi is the main actor of the story. This story is based on the Skizofrenia girl named Gebi. This story is very interesting because its telling us about the rare story we heard. We must follow the story in Gebis point of view. Its a little bit hard to understand this story 100 % because of the plot must be read until the last bab. In this story Gebi makes her own story about the man she loves. She keeps dreaming about the happy day for Aldi and her. And in the very last bab the Doctor said that Gebi has chosen to live in her dream, live happily with her Aldi.
