From the
We've got politics on the brain this week, so I'd like to tell you about an event tomorrow evening, and also a program that might interest you for Fall 2014. First, please join us tomorrow (Tuesday, January 28), at 9:00pm in the Holmes Honors Center TV Lounge (a.k.a. the Fishbowl) for our annual State of the Union watching party . We'll listen to President Obama's remarks, then discuss the speech itself and its political and policy implications in this congressional election year. Depending on your political views, you can celebrate, or drown your sorrows, with pizza. Second, I want to be sure you're aware of the South Carolina Honors Washington Semester Program for Fall 2014 (see page 3). It's run by our friends at the USC Honors College, but very much open to Clemson students as well. It's a great, and affordable, opportunity to learn and work in Washington. And it's not just for political science, economics, English, or history majors--scientists and engineers will find Washington an eye-opening experience, too. We are working on scheduling an information session on the Washington program, and will keep you posted. I hope to see you tomorrow evening!

MAY GRADUATES The Deadline to submit the Honors College Candidacy Form is Wednesday, January 29th. Do it now if you have not already! ALSO
The Honors College does not have/provide an Honors Stole. If you are interested in those you should visit the Omicron Delta Kappa website for information regarding pricing, deadline to order, etc. Their website is http:// people.clemson.edu/ ~odk/stoles.html
