The Institute offers exciting opportunities to motivated and talented Bachelors degree holders with a keen sense of scientific enquiry for pursuing advanced research in frontier areas of Biological, Chemical, Physical and athematical !ciences leading to a Ph " degree# $xperience shows that students entering this program save nearly a year compared to those who go for a % years aster&s degree program elsewhere and then 'oin the Institute for a Ph " program# $ach year, the Institute admits (% students )*+ in Biological !ciences, *+ in Chemical !ciences, *, to *+ in Physical !ciences and - to *+ in athematical !ciences . under this program# The program consists of flexi/le course work, an internship0type la/oratory training )wherein ample opportunities exist for the candidate to acquire /asic experimental skills and familiarity with advanced techniques for research., a research pro'ect to demonstrate attainment of a high degree of scientific a/ility followed /y advanced research leading to a Ph " thesis on a specific topic# Eligibility Candidates with a Bachelors degree in Biology1 Chemistry1 Physics1 athematics1 Pharmacy1 2eterinary !ciences1 3griculture as applica/le to individual discipline, under the *,4%451( system, are eligi/le to apply to this program# Candidates with B$1 B Tech degree are eligi/le to apply to the athematical !ciences discipline 6789# Candidates who apply to the Ph D (Integrated) programmes should qualify in JAM !"#$ 3dditional notes )a. The minimum requirement for admission to the Integrated Ph " program is a %I&'( C)A'' or equivalent :rade in the Bachelors degree )as declared /y the ;niversity. as indicated against each department# )/. The minimum requirement of %I&'( C)A'' in the qualifying examination is relaxed to PA'' C)A'' for 'C*'( +andidates$ )c. !ome departments have specific requirements of su/'ects at the Bachelors or *,4% levels $ Candidates ha,e to ensure that they meet these requirements$ )d. Those in the final year of their qualifying examination and awaiting results are also eligi/le to apply# <owever, they should have completed all the requirements for the award of the qualifying degree, including all examinations, dissertation pro'ects, viva0voce, etc#, /y the time of 'oining, i#e#, /y the 5*st of =uly %,*5#
