First, before you can achieve success, you need to define what success means to you. Success means different things to different people. They measure it across a few areas. It can be career, health, spiritual, emotional, time or financial.

To find your own definition of success you need to dig deep within yourself and question your values in life. What are your strengths and weaknesses? What are the things that are important to you? By answering these questions you can then come closer to your own definition of

Second, understand that success is a journey. It has multiple peaks and not one ultimate pinnacle. On this journey, you need courage to be optimistic, positive and filled with hope. Remember, however tough this journey is, there is light at the end of the tunnel. In your journey towards a great career, have the courage to be patient and persistent.

Third, it all starts with a thought. In whatever you want to do, you need to consciously decide that you will make a decision to act upon it. Why is belief a key success factor?

That positive attitude drives your action. When you act upon conviction and positive attitude it is almost always success.

Next, Strive for Excellence Take personal responsibility for your work. When you take personal responsibility for your work, the quality will show. It will make a difference. This is one of the few attitudes in the workplace that can make you stand out from your peers. To achieve career success, there are a few concepts you need to understand. Easy as it may sound, you need to understand them, and put them into practice - constant practice.

Lastly, Learn To Listen Listening needs discipline. You really have to control yourself from NOT speaking when someone else talks. Especially when your bosses are teaching you something and giving you instructions. Listen attentively and you will pick up nuggets of knowledge that will help in your work. You will learn to get the right things done.
