The Activity Manager is an exclusive online proprietary tool. It is an innovative software system that allows users to upload their data to a computer where the software analyzes it and presents the information in an easy-to-understand way so that progress can be tracked. The software allows users to enter personal body parameters and guides them along to their goals with a running report on progress toward those goals, including calorie burn, steps taken, time spent in moderate and vigorous activity, nutritional analysis and sleep efficiency all while tracking their personal bests. The Activity Manager does require a subscription. Activity Manager Features Include: A calorie burn tool which gives users a complete report of progress toward weight loss and fitness goals, including number of steps taken, time spent in moderate and vigorous activity, and minute by minute profiles of activity level throughout the day and night. A calorie consumption calculator allows users to log food by pulling from a database of over 30,000 food items or by creating new recipes or personalized items. It also saves frequently used foods so they can easily be picked out for the next time. This helps to track exactly how much food users are consuming and also breaks down the macro and

micronutrients in their meals so that they can get information on the nutritional quality of their diet. A sleep analysis tool provides a sleep efficiency score to show users how long it took them to fall asleep and provides a profile of their sleep wake cycle throughout the night. Users also have the ability to view accurate graphs of their data to help understand where they are tracking against their goals, run reports to look at their data over time, and perform nutritional assessments. All of these tools help users make meaningful changes to stay on-track. The new BodyMedia FIT coach that provides personalized feedback based on individual consumer sensor data and goals that are available through the online Activity Manager o The intelligent feedback engine feature includes the users projected daily energy expenditure to predict how a user is tracking against their calorie burn target and provides personalized comments/tips for reaching fitness goals if a user is falling behind. Also, the newest version of the Activity Manager includes the option to import and display heart rate data from select 3rd party heart rate monitors (Garmin devices).

What is the difference between the BodyMedia FIT CORE Armband and the BodyMedia FIT LINK Armand? The key difference between the Armbands is that the LINK Armband with Bluetooth wireless technology is a first of its kind product that communicates directly with a smartphone app to provide real-time caloric burn data, physical activity levels, and steps taken right on your smartphone to track fitness goals. There is also a food logging tool and a feature to create a personalized workout. How is the newest product, the CORE Armband, different from the others Armbands? CORE is the newest in the line of BodyMedia FIT Armbands, introduced in September 2011. While it is sleeker and 33% smaller compared to previous Armbands, it has the same four sensor technology that makes it just as powerful and accurate. What makes this technology different from a pedometer or accelerometer? The patented multi-sensor technology in BodyMedia products is validated to be the most accurate product in the market for measuring calorie burn (data on file) and it is clinically proven to help users lose weight.1 Accuracy is important pedometers can be off by as much as 50% for calorie burn and single sensor accelerometers may over or under estimate by 20% or more.2 What are the four sensors? How do they work and what do each measure? Galvanic Skin Response When a person sweats, the skin becomes more electrically conductive. This measurement helps to see activity levels. Skin Temperature Measures the surface temperature of the body. Heat Flux Measures the rate at which heat is dissipating from the body. 3-axis Accelerometer Measures motion and steps taken. From these sensors, the Armband captures 5,000+ readings per minute, and then the system uses proprietary algorithms to interpret those readings. What are some of the variables these sensors measure? a. Steps Taken b. Sweat c. Sleep duration and efficiency 2

d. Heat e. Calories burned f. Motion How is calorie burn actually measured? The Armband contains multiple sensors that measure motion, body heat, skin temperature, and conductivity. A proprietary algorithm analyzes the collected information and the user's personal body parameters to deliver accurate information on calorie burn, activity, steps and sleep efficiency. How does the system take into account an individuals metabolism? The proprietary Activity Manager software is personalized for each user based on the individuals personal body parameters that are input upon setup. How accurate is this product? Everything you do during the day and night from exercise to yard work to sleeping burns calories. The way in which calories are burned is different for everyone. BodyMedia is the most accurate body monitoring device in the market for measuring calorie burn (data on file). BodyMedia products capture calorie burn with greater than 90% accuracy, which has been clinically validated as compared to the gold standard in the industry (doubly labeled water).3 How does the system measure sleep? The BodyMedia FIT automatically determines lying down and sleep time by sensing the combination of orientation, motion, temperature, and skin conductivity. Sleep is determined using these characteristics of data. How does the sensor sleep technology work? The sleep algorithm is fully automatic, detecting and differentiating both lying-down and sleep 24/7 using readings from the four sensors and BodyMedias proprietary algorithms. Many other sleep monitors require the user to turn them on at bed time, or move the device to a specific location on the body at bed time. Why do you track sleep? Sleep and weight loss researchers understand the intricate connection between sleep and a body's ability to achieve healthy weight loss goals. The relationship between sleep and weight loss is complex and involves the hormones leptin and ghrelin. Leptin, produced in fat cells, signals to your body that you are full, causing the satisfied feeling you experience after a meal. Ghrelin, produced in the stomach and pancreas, does the opposite. It signals to your brain that it's time to eat. Your body regulates these hormones while you sleep. When you dont get enough sleep, you are left with high levels of ghrelin, signaling to your brain that you are hungry and low levels of leptin, leaving you feeling unsatisfied, even after a meal. Adequate sleep helps your body maintain proper levels of these hormones. What ages are supported by the BodyMedia FIT system? The energy expenditure measurements are validated for children, teens, adults and seniors. Research presented at the American College of Sports Medicine Conference illustrated that the BodyMedia system can play a role in monitoring childhood obesity patterns. The study validated the BodyMedia Armbands accuracy for monitoring activity levels in children.4 However, only the SenseWear product is currently available for use by children under 13. How does the heart rate download work? 3

The heart rate feature provides interactive charts that allow users to see their workouts in detail when heart rate data is uploaded from a Garmin device. The chart reports metrics for different zones allowing the user further details about each heart rate zone. Duration How long the user was in each zone % in Zone What percentage of time was spent in each zone Heart Rate Average beats per minute in each zone Calories How many calories are burned in each zone What is the average amount of weight a consumer loses in pounds? People who follow the BodyMedia program can expect to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. We have done clinical studies that show the system can help improve weight loss by 3 times versus behavioral support alone.1 How do the Mobile Apps work? Users of the Bluetooth enabled LINK Armband can see up-to-the minute streams of information right on their smartphones as well as log food. This real time information enables users to make smart decisions on their activity level and caloric intake throughout the day. Users of the CORE Armband can log their food directly and see a snapshot of their personal Activity Manager throughout the day, based on the last time they synced their Armband to the online Activity Manager.
