4-Day Watercolor & Mixed Media Workshop

This year, Margaret will teach a four-day workshop creating surface textures, as well as exploring abstract See more of Margarets work on www.MargaretGodfreyArt.com design in combination with representational subject matter. By using gesso, rice paper, scraping and adding marks, participants will add dimension and interest to their art. This workshop will expand your experience with representational shapes united with abstract form using watercolor, acrylic paint and collage. All collage materials will be created by the participants using old paintings, newly created pattern paintings and stained rice paper. Learn how to start a painting with a textured surface; how to create collage papers; how to compose a dynamic abstract design; how to combine abstract design with representational shapes; how to use color and shape to unify a painting; and how to build a painting using an intuitive process. Margaret uses an intuitive approach which she describes as creating and solving problems. Her fearless approach to the creation of a painting will help you let go, loosen up, and stop worrying about the rules. This class is limited so register early to secure your place in this workshop!

RESERVATIONS: Space is reserved on a first come basis for those who have paid the required deposit of $100. Space will not be reserved until the deposit has been received. We accept checks, cash, and credit cards. STUDENT CANCELLATION: There is a $50 cancellation charge which will be assessed if you cancel more than 30 days before the workshop begins. Due to committed expenses on behalf of EAC, there will be no refund if canceling less than 30 days prior to the beginning of the workshop. You might want to consider cancellation insurance. EAC CANCELLATION: We reserve the right to cancel a workshop at any time for good cause: lack of sign-ups, illness of instructor, extreme weather conditions, etc. If we do cancel a workshop, we will refund your entire payment. We will not be responsible for any other expense you may incur.
