Slhi Latino Tap Talk Ynpn Invite
This email is about a great opportunity for emergent nonprofit professionals to receive quality
technical assistance for their organization and to show their commitment and resourcefulness
to the sector.
Recently, I was hired by the St. Luke’s Health Initiatives (SLHI) to manage a special outreach
initiative to the Latino community. This effort is funded by the Virginia G. Piper Foundation
and is administered through SLHI because of the success they have had over the last ten years
with their Technical Assistance Partnership (TAP) offering complimentary technical assistance
to build the capacity of nonprofits in Maricopa County. SLHI places a high emphasis on a
strengths-based approach and in building networks to foster collaboration; this program
demonstrates their commitment to these ideas.
This Latino “TAP Talk” will be an interactive session featuring Tony Banegas from the Arizona
Community Foundation (ACF) who will focus on the importance of collaboration and technical
assistance for staying in business and thriving during difficult economic times. TAP participants
will have an opportunity to meet with leaders from organizations that have benefited from a TAP
experience and network with peers who are interested in building the capacity of their
organization. Participants include people from Latino led or nonprofits serving the Latino
community.
If you know of any person’s who would benefit or who could pass this information on to others,
please forward them the information. The electronic invitation to register is beneath my
signature line or you can click here. I have included the invitation in a PDF version too in
Spanish and English. If you have any questions, please contact me via email (raqueldg@cox.net)
or phone (480-236-4641). The Latino TAP event is on Wednesday, October 7, in Tempe at
the Fiesta Inn, registration is required by 10/2/09 and there is no cost involved unless someone
registers and then does not attend.
Take care and thanks for any assistance you might offer. I look forward to seeing you again
soon.

You have a conscience and a spirit for that.
