AIMS AND SCOPE

to highlight policy and best practice
in ESD (Education for Sustainable
Development).
This unique book will be an an-
thology with contributions from
practitioners and educationalists
from a range of countries who en-
gage to interpret, transfer and form
ESD into sustainable practice.
The overall goal of the publica-
tion is to portray action in diferent
levels and areas of education and

towards sustainable development.
The publication will be composed
of an expected good number of au-
thors from education and training,
youth and NGOs who wish to por-
tray, demonstrate and share best
classroom or teacher training prac-

or research ndings, in the eld of
ESD (Education for Sustainable De-
velopment).
In addition to articles that show
ESD practice in teaching, training
and research from countries in Eu-
rope and beyond, the anthology
will also include and illustrate the
framework of ESD, important policy
decisions in the eld, and portray
the key issues in the transition of
the UN Decade for ESD to the new
Global Action Programme.
The ambition of the publication
is also to empower and inspire. The
book intends to be a demonstration
to the wider community that prac-
titioners in education, training and
