PREPARATION Questions:
Using the answers from the first planning document, complete the following: a) Brainstorming (mind maps, etc)

(Area of interest) Why did you chose I chose to explore the obsession of stardom societys possess compared to the attention needed by natural disaster aids and charities. Instead of helping raise awareness for these causes, the society focuses on a drug overdosed, rich actor. What play, practitioner(s), and style do you plan to draw upon? Brechts Epic Theatre. How and why did you come to this selection? I have chosen this theatre practice because in terms of set design, there are several areas to explore and I am interested in exploring his techniques of alienation. c) Researching Practitioner(s) Brecht (within the area of interest) d) Plan of Action: ACTION PLAN: Start with an Action Plan with dates. 1. All research must be ready and complete by Wednesday, February 19th. Work backwards from this date. 2. Create an Action Plan which includes: a. Research on your aims & objectives. b. Research on your stimulus. c. Research on the new skill you wish to experiment with. d. Research on the style of performance.

o Investigate what Epic Theatre sets typically look like (common characteristics, elements and its effect of alienation) o Explore how some of these elements could be used/developed through a set piece o Decide on what kind of set pieces I will need for my piece (Set pieces, equipment, materials, etc.) o Research Epic Theatre plays in correspondence with the set design in general and how these plays alienated the audience members o Double check that all ideas parallel with the stimulus o Form final decisions on the use of Epic Theatre set design elements o Draft set designs o Finalize all set designs o All proposals for performance complete for class o Propose and Feedback Session in Class o Independent Working Time (Apply feedback received) o All research and concept performance complete o Rehearsals with Year 12s o Performance date (4pm)
