ISSUES AND CHALLENGES TO CHILDRENS RIGHTS AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT While there may be data on disaster preparedness in the region highlighting food and non-food needs, these data hardly look into the psychosocial effects of armed con icts especially on children. Further, there seem to be no long-term assessments on the con icts impact on poverty, inter-ethnic relations and the coping abilities of the affected population.
