The H3 Mission

Julianne Carney

Raising Our Hands High

Hands Held High, or simply H3, is a puppet ministry focused on sharing the word of God with all ages. H3 comes together as a team to preform for various age groups to minister and share the gospel with our audiences through the use of upbeat music, puppets, props, and skits. Our shows are meant to encourage those who see us that the Lord can speak in many ways. Each show is unique and we enjoy practicing new songs and bringing new ideas to the puppet ministry. The Germantown Baptist Church (GBC) puppet team has come a long way in the last couple of years. Since 2009, Ben Lane and Mike Gresham have strived to build a strong presence in the church and community for the GBC puppet team. From 2009-2010 the original puppet team thrived but had few members who soon went to college but God was not finished with the puppet ministry at Germantown Baptist. The team has gone through many troubling times but Ben and Mike, feeling God move them, would not give up on the puppet ministry at GBC. A year later, the youth minister, Keith Cochran, saw potential in the new team and promoted it widely to the entire GBC youth ministry. With the help of Keith, Ben and Mike were able to gather a substantial group to bring puppets back to GBC. In 2011, H3 was formed. With a group of over 15 members ranging from 6th grade to 12th grade, we have really come together to preform many great shows and bring many people to Christ though puppets. Each member brings something different to the H3 table, making the team everything that it is today. H3 preforms for many local organizations and various groups including Baptist Rehabilitation of Germantown, St. Jude, Dove Health & Rehab of Collierville, Faith Presbyterian Church, Greenfield Assisted Living at Lenox Park, The Ronald McDonald House, Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital, and many others. When we preform, our main goal is to present the gospel in a new and engaging way as well as leave a smile on the faces of our audiences. We are a family here at H3 and hope each audience member can see that we come together for the Gods purpose and treat each other with the same respect and love that the Lord shows each and everyone of us. God has done so many great things through H3 and we know He will continue to move through us and speak through us the the years to come. We are so honored and blessed to be working for the Lord and we pray that He will continue to allow us to present His work, love, and grace through the use of puppets.

Shows
During a puppet show you will hear various Christian songs that we have choreographed the puppets to. Some of our more popular songs include: Operator and It Is Well. We do regular shows as well as black light shows. H3 brings the stage and lights. Hosts do not have to provide anything in order to have H3 come and preform for them. H3 is a non-profit organization so there are no charges in order to host a show. Our regular shows are fun and engaging. We do a lot of well-known songs that have been altered to have Christian lyrics. We also do skits with the puppets to talk about the gospel. These shows can be preformed in any setting, be it indoors of outside on a hard flat surface. We love to do black light shows. These shows are full of energy and excitement for everyone. They props and puppets are bright and fun to watch. During these shows it is necessary to turn off as many lights in the room as possible to get the greatest effect. If you are interested in hosting a black light show we ask that you have a room with few windows. If you are interested in hosting a show or have any questions about what we do please do not hesitate to contact us!

The Team
H3 is made up of a group of over 15 members ranging from 6th graders to 12th graders. H3 was born in 2011 and has been steadily growing larger as the team progresses and gains more confidence, members, and experience. Each team member is a member of Germantown Baptist Church. Our team is made up of kids from the youth ministry and we think of H3 as a family where members can come as they are and be accepted for who they are. We strive to teach our members and our audiences that the Lord loves you and wants you to come to Him just as you are. We hope to live and teach through Christs example while mintering to our audiences. We enjoy bringing a smile to the audiences faces and bringing people closer to Christ.

Hebrews 12:12

ne specific Bible verse that embodied the H3 puppet team as a whole instantly came to mind for puppet leader Ben Lane. The scripture is Hebrews 12:12. The scripture in Hebrews is a requite of a scripture in Isaiah. They refer to lifting up arms and strengthening knees. Wow, what an image of a puppeteer, a person on their knees and needing help to hold up their weary arms during the shows
