MARKET UPDATES & STOCK RECOMMENDATION Singapore share prices opened higher on Monday with the Straits Times Index up 7.02 points to 3,045.73. Volume was 183.8 million shares worth S$87.7 million. Gainers outnumbered losers 102 to 56. Singapore shares ended higher on Monday with the Straits Times Index gaining 30.57 points to 3,069.28. Some 2.57 billion shares, valued at S$1.09 billion were traded. Gainers numbered 302 while losers numbered 134. AFTER rising 6.0 per cent in December, Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) went down again with a 3.3 per cent year-on-year drop in January. Developers sold 565 private homes excluding ECs in Jan 2014, up from 259 units in Dec 2013. United Overseas Bank shares jumped to their highest in two-and-a-half weeks on Monday on positive quarterly results, while Singapore stocks extended gains from the previous week as the rest of Asia edged up on easing concerns about emerging-market rout. Sales of private homes by developers in Singapore fell 72.1 per cent in January compared to a year earlier, government data showed on Monday. JARDINE CYCLE
