Mid-Gulf Coast Chapter Seminar (Drug Communication w/Pharm cont.) 8:30am Registration (Please come early) answer roundtable discussion with attendees. 9:00am-10:00am Advances in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound SPEAKER: Paul Lento, MD Sarasota Orthopedic Associates Dr. Lento will be discussing, inflammation or fluid within joints nerve, entrapments; soft tissue diagnoses without the use of MRI; uses of guided injections directly using Ultrasound system, musculoskeletal pain, and non-surgical treatment and strategies. 11:00am-12:00pm Understanding OSHA Safety in the Medical Practice SPEAKER: Pamela Stone Risk & Safety Consultant OSHA Certified Program Overview: Identify blood borne pathogens (BBP); understanding how diseases are transmitted; determine your risk of exposure; protect yourself from exposure through prevention; respond 10:00am-11:00pm Drug Communications w/the Pharmacist SPEAKER: Marving Bouchon Registered Pharmacist 12:00pm-12:30pm This session will cover prescription writing practices, Drug Enforcement Agency schedules; insulin classification; drug communication patient, pharmacist and CMA; and will finish with questions and LUNCH PROVIDED IN THE CAF appropriately if exposed; and understand your right to medical evaluation. 1:30pm-3:30pm Stress Management: Awareness and Management Techniques SPEAKER: Dianne Perry, PHD Licensed Mental Health Counselor Attending this session, the participant will be able to Identify own life stress events; identify stressors in patients/clients; understand the physiological effects of stress and learn techniques to manage stress. 12:30pm-1:30pm Heart Disease SPEAKER: Dr. Erick Calderon, MD FACC FSCAI Interventional Cardiology Medical Director of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Cardiovascular Laboratory Program overview: Identify common cardiac conditions; discuss preventive measures and educational opportunities in the office setting; treatment plans for several cardiac diagnoses; and newer techniques and less invasive procedures.
