Program Purpose & Goal


To provide cardiovascular educational knowledge and skills for all clinicians who care for patients with conditions of the heart. The symposium design offers a curriculum for all healthcare professionals with a specific focus on care provided throughout the spectrum. The curriculum will also foster discussion amongst physicians, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, and health care professionals.

Learner Objectives:
Discuss cases from the cardiac cath lab to demonstrate a variety of devices and techniques. Explain how the robot can facilitate specific aspects of cardiovascular surgery. Recognize and manage various types of cardiac arrhythmia. Summarize the need for timely and evidence-based stroke management. Develop an approach to anticoagulant and anti-platelet therapies. Describe the various clinical manifestations of peripheral vascular disease. Objectively screen the neonate for critical congenital heart disease. Summarize the important cardiac readiness strategies of the prehospital team.
