Creat a caustics
A good caustics can give much life to a scene, because it's a real common optic effect. To create them in VRay you must follow the next steps: .! "reate a simple scene, li#e the below one.
$.! %ext, apply the materials to the ob&ects. The floor plane have the 'A( standard material, and the another three ob&ects have a more complex material explained below.
).! Analy*ing the material apllied to the red glass sphere we can see how it's created: 1. The +Ambient+ and +,iffuse+ colors are changed to a dar# red. 2. The opacity must be set up to )-, because if we move it down to - we can lose the shadows. 3. The reflection map is made with a +.alloff+ material, adding to the white color box the VRay'ap, and selecting in it the +Reflect+ chec#box. 4. /e can get the refraction adding in the refraction map another VRay'ap, but this time with the +Refract+ chec#box chec#ed, and setting the filter color a lighter color than the diffuse one

'ap 0 1VRay'ap2 WARN N!: for a good visuali*ation of the assigned VRay materials, we previously must select the VRay render engine li#e in the + How to set up the global illumination in VRay+ tutorial and, after this, in the materials options select the VRay as the render engine. 3.! "reate a light in the scene set in a side, for a better caustic effect.
5.! ,epending the release of VRay, the light may have the +6enerate caustic+ chec#box activated or not. 7ou can see it in the +8ight settings...+ properties of the +9ystem+ submenu.
<.! =efore launching the rendering process we must activate in the VRay menu the caustics chec#box. This option is in the +"austics+ submenu. "hec# this chec#box and rise the default value to a extremely high value, because the default multiplier is impossible to see. A good number is 4.---, but for this example we will set it to -.--- to get a better loo#.
