About the Company ThinkImpact (www.thinkimpact.com) is an experiential education company that operates in Africa, Latin America and the United States. Our Institutes offer university students and graduate students unparalleled social innovation immersion opportunities in emerging markets. Our mobile app, Unleesh, is an experiential education action platform to support learning and growing anywhere in the world. Scholars on ThinkImpact's Institutes work through a program called the Innovator. The Innovator, delivered in either book form or as a path on our mobile app, Unleesh, guides individuals through the innovation process. The innovation process is designed for scholars to learn by doing in partnership with rural community members. The process promotes asset-based thinking, resourcefulness, collaboration with others both from the US and across cultures, the creation of or enhancement of a social innovation, and finally, a deliverable in the form of a portfolio for further exploration after the program. ThinkImpact is based in Denver, Colorado, and operates in Ghana, Kenya, Panama, Rwanda and South Africa. Opportunity Description We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Country Coordinator, who will be responsible for building and managing ThinkImpact operations in South Africa. This is a high level position with lots of responsibility and room to grow. Responsibilities Country Operations. The Country Coordinator CC is responsible for all operations in country and reports directly to the Global Operations Director. The CC will register or manage a subsidiary of the company within the country of operation and open and operate a local bank account. The CC runs the day-today operations of the company in country and is the country lead on programs.

The Country Coordinator also documents country operations and processes in handbooks to retain internal company memory for future staff. ThinkImpact Staff. The Country Coordinator identifies, interviews, contracts, and oversees locals to assist with logistics and community relations as agreed upon with the Global Operations Director. The CC identifies office space and housing for staff as needed. The Country Coordinator assists and works together with all staff to improve operations, run programs, and manage finances. Community Expansion. The Country Coordinator identifies and selects communities within which to work according to the process outlined by ThinkImpact. Homestay Selection and Coordination. The Country Coordinator is responsible for: o Screening homestay families for ThinkImpact scholars and staff. o Sending the Global Operations Director information on each host family, which may be shared with scholars prior to their departure for South Africa. o Conducting trainings with host families to ensure they are prepared for the scholars arrival. o Making all arrangements with host families prior to the scholars arrival and remaining in contact with host families while scholars are staying with them in order to quickly identify and resolve any problems. Logistics. The Country Coordinator is responsible for: o All in-country reservations and logistics and for overseeing group logistics during the programs (which requires staying full time in the rural communities where ThinkImpact works during all programs). The logistical items/needs to be covered include organizing homestays, food, water, transportation, lodging reservations, excursions, community organizers, internet, phones and airtime. o Negotiating rates to ensure they are fair when researching numerous options to present to the Global Operations Director as outlined by ThinkImpact. o Re-confirming all reservations prior to the groups arrival in country to avoid any problems. In the event a service is cancelled or changed, the Country Coordinator finds an alternative and notifies ThinkImpact for approval. Curriculum. The Country Coordinator reviews curriculum to make sure it is culturally appropriate. The Country Coordinator communicates curriculum to community members and supports staff with curriculum needs during programs. Partnerships. The Country Coordinator works to build and manage relationships with local organizations, institutions, and government. They record contact information for all partners and service providers to share with

ThinkImpact headquarters. The Country Coordinator develops relationships with local leaders at all levels and keeps all necessary people up to date with ThinkImpacts operations in country. Partnerships with organizations that provide financial literacy training and small business loans or investments to locals are especially important. Itinerary. The Country Coordinator builds out itineraries in the format outlined by ThinkImpact. Budgeting/Finances. The Country Coordinator builds out budgets in the format outlined by ThinkImpact. The Country Coordinator sends details, including price, for each service contracted to ThinkImpact. The Country Coordinator keeps records of all reservations and payments. Taxes. The Country Coordinator is responsible for submitting and tracking payments for all company taxes in country in a timely manner. However, money to pay taxes will come from ThinkImpact. Reporting. The Country Coordinator is in constant contact with ThinkImpact headquarters. The Country Coordinator sends updates/reports to the Global Operations Director in the format outlined by ThinkImpact. The Country Coordinator must submit the monthly report prior to getting paid each month. Safety. In designing the program, picking communities, and selecting service providers, the Country Coordinator does everything possible to ensure the safety of scholars and staff at all times. Emergency Coordination. The Country Coordinator provides emergency support while ThinkImpact scholars and staff are on the ground. In the event of a medical or other emergency, the Country Coordinator works closely with other ThinkImpact staff to deal with the issue efficiently and notifies ThinkImpact headquarters as soon as possible.

Opportunity Location Details This position is based in or around Cape Town, South Africa. About 60% of time will be spent in an office setting and 40% in the communities where ThinkImpact will work a 1-4 hour drive from Cape Town. Lives and works in or around Cape Town, South Africa or very familiar with the area Is able to be legally employed, register the company and open a bank account in South Africa Has a drivers license and is a safe and reliable driver, able to rent a car and drive program participants and staff Fluent in written and spoken English Ability to travel to rural communities where ThinkImpact is working and stay there full time when programs are running Interest in community development and understanding of local political structures Excellent organization skills, ability to work independently to set and meet deadlines Demonstrated leadership and management experience, ability to lead a multicultural team Entrepreneurial attitude and the ability to work in a fast paced environment Proficient computer skills, including: Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Email, and Internet

Opportunity Timing Full-time starting March 2014 Compensation Country Coordinator will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of their contract.
