Places In Your Mind

There are places hidden, incognito, by a light that is blinding,

These dark intentions, contrasted by these thoughts so providing.

And asided by the mindless, these fools we earnestly confided,

So thoughtlessly disregarded by their words so misguided.

And in these places inside us,

Where a questions echo enchants the far off distance,
Waiting for the answers to echo back, an assumption’s sound persistence.

Grace, art and a master of mood,

Working with tools left behind in these soulless rooms.

And these tales you reprise,

Words you speak from the heart, for these stories are your disguise.

These dramatics taken out of context with the intention to mislead,

Demonstrating lessons of intention, these entitlements on which we feed.

In these places, which we consistently embraced,

A flailing and fumbling panic with no chance of escape.

Probability too soon, unknowingly unmended,

Never close enough to clear the gaps that our thoughts have extended.

Would your befriendment have offended, or lent a helping hand,

What makes it wrong to be appalled by paradigm’s gradient sands?

What guess would caress, and envelop the mind,

Repealing these woes, so thoughtlessly chosen to be preserved in time?

And there are sides, always sides, these places in our minds,
Alleys where we rally the emotions that we shrine.

In impudence, unyielding, these mistakes leave us unshielded,

Embankments of confusion and the questions left unfielded.

But you, so unique,

No frustrations articulated, not furnished nor fettered,
Just the fragrances you wore, always scented on your sweaters.

These matters so simple, yet so genre defining,

Sadness is the beauty woven cleanly in this silver lining.

These moments of reflection and echos we find,

In the dark of the night, so clearly outlined.

What was once beautiful, now over; we confide,

Those moments we embrace, these places in our minds.
