Thank you or respecting the hard work o this author. '''''''''' (ear )eader% $ am a woman who is #ery #ery Christian% #ery #ery single and #ery #ery lonely. *nd then there+s this guy. $n many ways he is compellingly attracti#e. ,ike me he is also #ery #ery single and #ery #ery lonely. -owe#er% he is not a Christian at all. in act the li e he li#es is #ery #ery ar rom Christ. To make matters worse% he is actually my latmate. (espite our best e orts we ha#e totally allen or one another. This is all a true story. /y name is Junia% welcome to my world. '''''''''' This is the irst part o this series actually describing the e#ents o an actual day. * series o 0ackground (etails are already a#ailable1 Part 1 o this series is a#ailable here1 The ,o#e (iaries 2 $ntroduction This gi#es a basic introduction to this series and e3plains the basic issue1 $ am a Christian woman who has a latmate who is not a Christian% and o#er the course o sharing the same house we ha#e somehow allen or one another. Short 43cerpt1 $ am so used to describing people as 5Christians5 or 5non"Christians5. $ guess $ may well ha#e inad#ertently gi#en the impression to this particular guy% or others% that i someone is not a Christian% then $ ind him useless. )egarding this particular guy% nothing could be less true. 6o% he is not a Christian at all. -e does many scary and unwise things which instincti#ely make me want to gulp deeply and run away as ast as $ possibly can. (espite that $ admire him so deeply 2 ar more deeply than $ admire most Christians $+#e met. 7$n some ways $ admire him e#en more deeply than $ admire mysel 2 and $ de initely do not ha#e low sel "esteem89 There is a sincerity and an honesty about him which $ ind so compelling. -e treats human beings as human beings. $ there is any malice or #indicti#eness in his heart $ am yet to come across it. -e genuinely listens. There is no pretence in his demeanour " i he does not like you% he makes no e ort to pretend otherwise.... 760 2 he does seem to be pretending now89 The second instalment is a#ailable here1 The ,o#e (iaries " 0ackground (etails 1 :acebook% Physi;ue and :lirtation This gi#es a ew background details to the way we started to all or one another. $ ne#er e3pected that he would e#er notice me as a woman. <n my own part% $ could not help being aware o his maleness% but $ strongly disliked him as a person... Short 43cerpt1 (ear )eader% $ guess it would be worthwhile to gi#e you a background to all o this% how we ell or one another. $ know that i you don+t know the story it might sound a little presumptuous o me to state so bluntly that he likes me% especially now that he has a new girl riend. =hy don+t $ spell out e3actly what happened% so you can draw your own conclusions>8 So this is how it all started.

$t is ;uite hard or me to gi#e you su icient background to this thing% in terms o how we started alling or one another. $ could go into lots o possibly uninteresting detail. 0ecause he and $ are latmates% and because neither o us e3pected any kind o romantic interaction between us% many things happened slowly and gradually% o#er the course o months% rather than all in one go. The main points $+#e summarised are as ollows1... ?iew all parts o the series here1 The ,o#e (iaries '''''''''' =ell $+#e met her8 Just today in act. /y goodness% $ could not be more surprised. To be honest% she is undoubtedly attracti#e. *nd yet% on taking one look at her ace $ thought to mysel 7that9 5This guy is lying. This thing is a sham.5 * ter a ew minutes o polite chatting to her% this thought was only rein orced. <n the other hand% $ could o course be wrong. $t may be that there are genuine eelings on both sides 2 $+m sure that she at least is being completely sincere. $s it necessary or me to discuss her physical attributes> <h% #ery well then. She has beauti ul% long% straight brunette hair% reaching to hal way between her shoulder and her waist. She is ;uite small and petite% with a classic hourglass igure. ull bust and hips. $ also noticed when she spoke that she has great teeth% #ery straight% clean and white. *nd yet $ took one look at her ace and thought 5/y goodness% she+s older than $ am85 To be air% $ only did get the one look% and she may !ust ha#e an older"looking ace. *nd then o course there is nothing actually wrong whatsoe#er with being old% or older. 0ut then we got talking. She does not really understand spoken 4nglish% e#en to understand simple ;uestions such as 5whereabouts do you li#e5. $ had to ask the ;uestion three times% rephrasing it each time% be ore she understood and replied appropriately. *nd $ am almost completely sure that she and ( don+t ha#e any other language between them. $ was wondering1 5-ow do they communicate>85 To be air once again% her answers were ;uite sophisticated% e#en though she did not understand my ;uestion. She said that she had come rom her own country to study 4nglish% and then she had met him 7gesturing at (9 and she had allen in lo#e. $ looked at ( at this point% but he continued ocusing intently on the #egetables he was chopping. Since the whole thing started with this new girl% or since $ became aware o it% $ ha#e o course been thinking it o#er deeply in my mind. 0e ore $ go any urther $ would like to make someone out there eel relie#ed that $ ha#e decided to let him go% and ocus on @od% and be patient. 0ut to go back to it% $ ha#e been asking mysel whether he has been beha#ing with true honesty in this thing. $ ha#e been asking mysel whether it could all be an elaborate pretence. Sincerely% $ ha#e always tended towards the #iew that he is not being totally honest in this thing. <n the other hand% it could o course be that he is a ter some simple% light"hearted un. The reason why $ would struggle to accept that is because $ irst met him while he was in a long"term relationship. *nd since then $ know he+s had a ew short term lings with a ew girls. 0ut these were #ery short time% while this new one has now lasted or two months. 0ut then look how he came right out and proposed to me% e#en though we were not actually in a relationship. -e !ust has ne#er struck me as the kind o person to seek this kind o un rom girls in this way. -owe#er it is o course not my place to !udge% it may be that he is taking a new approach to li e and lo#e 2 and o course that is what youth is there or. These are a ew o the things that make me eel tempted to smell a rat. This new girl 2 let+s call her A% does not li#e in this city% but rather in a city at the other end o the country. This guy is the type o guy who rom his appearance could get pretty much any girl he wants. There are hundreds o single a#ailable girls right here in this city. -is pre#ious girl riend was rom his own country. There are hundreds o girls rom his country right here 2 some o those must be single. *nd yet he goes and starts something with someone who li#es at the other end o the country% someone who

does not speak his own language% or e#en 4nglish that well> $ am tempted to think that this was a deliberate ploy% so that a ter a while he could !ust end the whole thing neatly and cleanly 7and possibly blame the breakup on the long distance relationship9. -ow easy it would be to mo#e on i she is so ar rom him by so many miles8 $ on the other hand he were to start something with someone rom this same city% then it would physically be a lot easier or her to come and harrass him i they broke up. $ he happened to choose a girl riend rom his own country% then the likelihood is that they would know lots o riends or people in common 2 which would instantly make a break"up more messy. *nd then there is the act that she appears to be a little older% e#en than me% and $ am older than him by a number o years. $+m thinking that i she is older% but prepared to be with him% there might be more desperation on her side than on his. $ am not saying that all older women are desperate 2 $ certainly am not. *nd yet $ can appreciate that an older woman might eel that she has less lu3ury o choice than a younger woman% or instance. $ this is true% then it might put the power within the relationship s;uarely into his own hands. $ mean that as long as he is not dread ul% then he can pretty much continue the relationship !ust as long as he wants 2 and he can almost take it or granted that she will remain keen and eager% e#en to the point o crossing the whole country to be with him. *s $ write this% $ am orced to consider the possibility that this may also ha#e been his strategy with me% being older than him as $ also am. The act that she does not speak such good 4nglish yet also adds to this1 this is a actor that might make her less con ident o inding someone in this country although she could o course look or someone who speaks her own language. *nd yet% this could be the sort o basis on which a possible long"term relationship might e#entually emerge. $t might be that something true and real does spring up rom these oundations 2 who can say> =ell it had been clear rom a ew signs that this would be a #isiting weekend or her. ,et me con ess here to my own naughtiness and e3plain to you how $ inally met her. Simply put% my curiosity e#entually got the better o me. She actually arri#ed #ery early today% during the a ternoon rather than the e#ening 7$ guess that is the e ect o ha#ing to tra#el a long distance% not ha#ing so much choice o#er the time o your arri#al.9 $ knew she would be coming% but $ did not realise she had arri#ed yet% so $ grabbed the chance to knock on (+s door to ask him something. $ did not want to ha#e to discuss it when she was around% but $ e;ually did not want to orget. 7So she may well ha#e heard me% but she probably would not ha#e understood what $ said anyway.9 Then $ entered my own room% and oh my goodness% $ soon heard their combined laughter ring out. Shortly a terwards $ ound mysel ha#ing to search or my C( player... 7=hat or>8 $ hear you ask...9 7$ know% a C( player " $+m so old" skool89..$ could not ind it at irst% so $ essentially ga#e up 2 and then $ ound mysel really ha#ing to search or my C( player8 $ had that music on so loud that $ almost eared or my eardrums.... They went out shortly a terwards% then came back and $ was puBBled by the silence. 4#entually $ heard a strong chop in the kitchen. There is only one person $ know in the house who chops like that. Then $ heard a distinctly male #oice% and an unknown emale #oice% and or some strange reason% $ suddenly started eeling mysteriously thirsty% !ust then8 $ asked mysel 1 5*m $ eeling thirsty>85 Then $ thought 5,et+s do this85 So down $ went. -e is a great cook% and he was adding to an e3isting mound o chopped tomatoes and onions. -owe#er she was stirring the rice as it boiled as i she was determined to make it burn. Cou may be glad to hear that $ only stayed in the kitchen brie ly% to get my water and chat with her% then $ politely made my e3it% and ga#e them their space. Their dinner when it was e#entually cooked smelled delicious 2 something in#ol#ing chicken% $ think8

4arlier on in the day% $ had been thinking o#er this and o#er the whole issue o relationships% chie ly my own relationship with my e#entual husband. $ came to the point o thinking that $ am !ust going to let it go regarding (% re use to culti#ate any liking in my heart. This is a point that $ ha#e actually been at be ore% a point $ ha#e returned to many times. =hat will happen though is that $ will orget% $ will start thinking about the act that there is no"one else% and my heart will start illing with yearning. Something amaBing occurred to me or possibly the irst time today% e#er% and that is this1 $ ha#e been so obsessed with my own loneliness or so long. -owe#er% while yes% $ am lonely% #ery deeply and truly so% that is not actually the issue% that is not actually the ultimate cause o my discontent. That is actually something else. $t has nothing whatsoe#er to do with men or with relationships and what they promise. *nd no% it is not a spiritual thing either% although there is always room or more growth and more depth with @od. $t is actually something a lot more straight orward and prosaic. *s $ thought on it% my heart was illed with con idence that @od is going to deal with this issue 2 soon 2 and once that is dealt with% by @od+s grace $ will !ust be able to get on with other things while patiently waiting or @od to sort this man thing out8 *nd yet% $ will continue to pray or him. Please stay tuned as $ plan to publish weekly segments detailing the urther twists and turns in this non"romance DDD ?iew all parts o the series here1 The ,o#e (iaries
