Polyester
What is Polyester
Polyester is polymers from plastic. Heated plastic bottles and other chemicals like in plant called cutin. Also is made out of PET (polyethylene terephthalate). It is better than cotton in ways that it dries quick, resilient, easy to wash.

What it is used for

Shirts/ dresses Bed sheets Safety belts Finish wood products Insulation Filters

Polyester can turn to threads which it can later make it to other stuff.

How to make it
Chemical reactions between ethylene and dimethyl terephthalate are mixed together, which is heated up to 270F (132C). Then the company decides what they will make. When making it the worker are protected

Alternatives
We can go back to cotton. Cotton is natural and safer. Weve been using cotton for a long time. Say Yes to Cotton and NO on polyester.

The Side Effects

When using it you can have skin and eye irritation. You can have skin rashes or inflammation

My Thoughts
Polyester is a good thing for taking the plastic out of landfills. Polyester is good for that point, but then again we can just reduce making plastic, polyester doesnt have to make. Polyester is probably the best thing we have for now for clothes that we tend to wear for hen raining. And somewhere in our closet we have polyester clothes and we dont notice it. It is also a bad thing considering that you might get rashes. For me if scientist finds a way that most of the population doesnt get irritation then polyester is amazing.
