An award scheme to recognise Haverings talented young people across the field of culture

What is the Havering Talented 30 Scheme?


The Havering Talented 30 scheme is promoted and sponsored by the London Borough of Havering and Havering College of Further and Higher Education. Havering College is proud to be associated with this scheme which aims to recognise the talents of 30 gifted young people across the full range of cultural activities (including art, sport, music, drama, dance and literature) and support those individuals to develop and enhance their skills and performance through the award of a grant.

What support is available?


The successful applicants will receive 200 each.

Who is eligible for support?


The young person must live in Havering and be aged 19 or under and in full time education to be eligible for support.

When do I apply?
The scheme is now open and nomination forms must be returned by Friday 16 May.

Who can apply?


The young person themselves or someone who knows their abilities, e.g. teacher, parent, coach. However, they will need to know in detail what the young person has achieved and be able to describe the talent they have demonstrated.

What does the Scheme require of the successful young people?


Other than continuing with trying to improve in their chosen activity the only things the scheme requires the young person to do are:

When will the talented 30 be announced?


Successful candidates will be notified at the beginning of June and presented with their cheques at an award ceremony at myplace, Dagnam Park Drive, Harold Hill, on the evening of Monday 30 June.

How do I apply? What can the grant be used for?


Anything that will help the individual improve his or her activity, e.g. training, equipment, instruction. Download a nomination form from www. havering.gov.uk and return by e-mail to janice.kirk@havering. gov.uk. Alternatively you can complete the form on the back of this leaflet and send to
