WED, OCT 15- UNITED STATES TO DUBLIN Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. THU, OCT 16- DUBLIN ARRIVAL & BOYNE VALLEY VISITOR CENTRE Your CIE Tours driver/guide will welcome you to Ireland and escort you and your luggage to the coach. Stop for breakfast at the Man O War restaurant and pub. Then in County Meath stop at the Boyne Valley Visitor Centre to learn about the nearby passage tombs of Newgrange and Knowth constructed over 5,000 years ago. Walk through a full-scale reconstruction of the chamber at Newgrange and see a replica of Knowth. Next stop to visit Proleek Dolmen, one of the most photographed portal tombs in Ireland. Local legend says that if you throw a small stone onto the capstone and it stays there, you will be married within the year. After your visit continue north, driving through the towns of Dundalk and Newry and past the scenic Mourne Mountains. Drive into Belfast which is situated on the deep inlet of Belfast Lough check into your hotel. Enjoy the balance of the day free to relax or do some exploring on your own. In the evening join your fellow travelers for dinner in the hotel restaurant. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: EUROPA HOTEL, BELFAST FRI, OCT 17- BELFAST SIGHTSEEING & TITANIC BELFAST Today embark on a sightseeing tour of Belfast. In the Titanic Quarter, visit the Titanic Belfast. Embark on a journey through the life of the Titanic, from her conception, construction, launch, her maiden voyage and tragic end. Through state of the art technology, the exhibitions nine interactive galleries take you back to the sights, sounds and stories of Titanic as well as the City and people which made her. After your visit enjoy the balance of the afternoon at leisure and then join your group for dinner in the evening. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: EUROPA HOTEL, BELFAST SAT, OCT 18- GIANT'S CAUSEWAY & DERRY WALKING TOUR After breakfast, depart Belfast and drive north to experience one of Ireland's popular scenic routes along the coast road. Here you'll see the "Nine Glens of Antrim" which offer wonderful views of mountains, valleys and coastline. Stop to view the Giant's Causeway, an impressive area of hexagonal columns formed over 60 million years ago by cooling lava and has given rise to many legends. Continue along the coast to Derry and enjoy a walking tour to see the principal sights. See the 17th century city walls, which are some of the best-preserved in Europe, and the Diamond, the main central square. Also pass the 17th century St. Columb's Cathedral, the Tower Museum with local history displays and the Guildhall where the history of Derry is depicted in stained-glass windows. After your tour, journey to Stranorlar, check into your hotel and relax or freshen up before dinner. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: KEE'S HOTEL, STRANORLAR SUN, OCT 19- SLIEVE LEAGUE CLIFFS & DONEGAL CASTLE This morning travel along the shores of Donegal Bay through Killybegs and Shalwy to reach the Slieve League cliffs, Europe's highest sea cliff after the cliffs of Croaghaun on the northern coast of Achill Island. This mountain forms cliffs on the seaward side with a drop of 900 feet straight down into the wild, Atlantic waves below. Next, visit Hanna Hats, world famous maker of tweed hats, woven wool, and other fine apparel, which was founded by David Hanna in 1924. Then in the town center visit the ruins of Donegal Castle, which incorporates the gabled tower of a 15th century house built by the ODonnell family. Partially restored, the castle reflects a long and turbulent history. Then return to Stranorlar and spend the balance afternoon at leisure. In the evening join your fellow travelers for dinner in the hotel restaurant once again. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: KEE'S HOTEL, STRANORLAR MON, OCT 20- BELLEEK POTTERY & KNOCK SHRINE Leaving Stranorlar, travel to Belleek where youll visit Belleek Pottery. Watch how craftspeople mold, shape and decorate the clay, especially the fine basket weaves for which the pottery is famous. Then travel through the scenic County Sligo and on into County Mayo to the pilgrimage town of Knock. Here visit Knock Shrine, one of the worlds leading shrines where the Virgin Mary appeared to 15 people on August 21, 1879. See the shrine and modern basilica traveling south via Headford to Galway, a bustling city with unique I rish flavor. Embark on a panoramic tour to see the principal sights of the city. Then check into your hotel and enjoy some time to relax before dinner. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: RADISSON BLU HOTEL, GALWAY TUE, OCT 21- CONNEMARA & CONNEMARA LADY CRUISE Today tour Connemara and admire the sweeping views of boglands and misty mountains. At Leenane, stop to take a short catamaran cruise aboard the Connemara Lady through Killary Harbour, Irelands only fjord. You can see great views from this narrow inlet, which is surrounded by hills and cliffs. Also observe the seabirds, seals and otters that live in the waters. Return to Galway and enjoy some time at leisure before dining with your group at the hotel. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: RADISSON BLU HOTEL, GALWAY WED, OCT 22- CLIFFS OF MOHER & DROMOLAND CASTLE After breakfast, drive around the shores of Galway Bay and through the Burren Country, a unique region of limestone hills where many rare flowers thrive in the sheltered crevices. Stop at the Cliffs of Moher, a wall of rock that plunges 700 feet to the churning Atlantic Ocean below. Pass through Ennis to the Shannonside region where many castles and Shannon Airport are located. Upon arrival check into Dromoland Castle Hotel, one of Ireland's finest castle hotels. It is one of the few castle hotels that can trace its ownership back through history to Gaelic Irish families of royal heritage. The Castle offers all guests deluxe accommodations and the experience of living as "Landed Gentry", surrounded by breathtaking scenery, absolute luxury and exceptional service. Spend the balance of the day relaxing in this luxurious setting use the leisure center, walk around the grounds or play a round of golf. In the evening join your fellow travelers for a superb dinner in the castles restaurant. DINNER & OVERNIGHT: DROMOLAND CASTLE HOTEL, SHANNON THU, OCT 23- BUNRATTY FOLK PARK & BUNRATTY CORN BARN This morning travel south to the village of Bunratty. Upon arrival, visit the Bunratty Folk Park, which comprises a collection of farmhouses from different regions of Ireland and a 19th century village street with a pub, school, general store and many other buildings where traditional lifestyles and crafts are demonstrated. From Bunratty, drive east into Limerick for a panoramic tour of the city, which features the sights made famous in Frank McCourts biography, Angelas Ashes. Pass the 13th century King John's Castle in the center of the town. This imposing fortress with its massive walls and towers has guarded the River Shannon crossing for the past 700 years. Return to your castle hotel and relax or freshen up before this evenings festivities. This evening join in the fun and feasting at Bunratty Corn Barn. Enjoy a traditionally Irish dinner as your hosts entertain you with their songs and stories. OVERNIGHT: DROMOLAND CASTLE HOTEL, SHANNON FRI, OCT 24- RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES Sadly, today your Irish vacation has come to its final day. Transfer to Shannon Airport in good time to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying across the Atlantic Ocean back to the United States.
