Arm wrestling competition to select ‘Mr Selangor’

THE 2009 Selangor Arm Wrestling competition will
be held at Cova Square along Jalan Teknologi, Kota
Damansara tomorrow.
Hosted by Cova Square Sdn Bhd, and managed by
the Selangor Armsport Association, the competition
will feature a “closed circuit” for professional players
and an open tournament for the public.
The Closed Pro Circuit grand final will bestow
winning players with the title of “Mr Selangor” in
each competition bracket – 65kg or below, 85kg to
65kg and a 85kg or above category.
Only open to selected male players, the grand
final will be the culmination of a competition that has
been on-going since March.
Meanwhile, the open tournament will cater to
both male and female participants, featuring 65kg
or below’, 65kg-85kg and a 85kg or above weight
category for males, and for females of all weight
groups.
The champions in each category and tourna-
ment will receive cash prize of RM300, while second
placed winners will be awarded with RM200 and
third placed winners RM100. Winners will also be
awarded a trophy, certificate and prize hamper.
Also to be held is a Poco Poco dance competition
with RM1,050 up for grabs by the top three winning
teams.
Teams of 10 to 12 dancers must register before
competing in this traditional dance, where winning
teams will be decided based on the quality of team
costumes, original style, and movement.
The first placed team will receive RM500, followed
by RM350 for the second team and RM200 for the
third placed dancers and a trophy.
