Straight from a 4-hour flight we are all tired and starving. So we started our
night with a street food stall hopping in and around the Dongdaemun night
market area. We had topokki (Spicy Rice Cake), one of the staple Korean
street foods. Rice cakes cooked in chili paste. It was so good and perfect for
the weather. Coming from a tropical country makes us limited to winter
clothes but it was never a problem because Dongdaemun night market has

The first time I visited Gangnam, it was immediately obvious that this
place is where it all happens. You could spend a whole day just walking
around Coex Mall, nevermind the tree-lined shops and galleries of
Garosu-gil, the department stores of Apgujeong, or the boutiques of
Cheongdam. Of course night time is when it really comes to life – when
there’s a restaurant and bar for every taste and a hundred new people to
meet each night. They say ‘Gangnam’ means ‘south of the river’, but it’s
definitely the center of the action for me!
