This training is required by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command as outlined in the Management of Weight Handling Equipment publication, otherwise know as the NA VF AC P-307. The NA VF AC P-307 provides detail requirements for functions that relatc to all Weight Handling Equipment: maintenance, repair and alterations, inspection, test, certification, crane rigging operations, and use of rigging gear. All Department of the Navy (DON) personnel operating, maintaining, and/or inspecting cranes must attend thosecoursesrelating to their area of responsibilities to legally work on or be part of a crane crew.
