Event Announcement:

New Section Secretary


The ASME Northern Alberta Section is pleased to announce that Doug Small has joined the Section executive as secretary in the fall 2012. Doug is a Professional Engineer working for AMEC Americas Ltd. in Stoney Plain. A mechanical engineer by training, Doug spent several years of his career in manufacturing. His interest in this field led him to SME. He became an executive with the local SME Chapter in 1996. He steered his career away from manufacturing in 2004 and got into the consulting business. With his experience in the work place as well as in professional society work Doug is a great addition the ASME NAS team. Welcome Doug!

By nominating an educator of students in grades 6-12, you shine a spotlight on those inspiring tomorrows innovators. Up to three winners will be selected from all applicants and will receive a trip to Washington, D.C. for recognition in June 2013. In addition, winners receive a $2000 cash prize, 3M digital projector and 3M gift pack of classroom supplies. Their engineer/student nominators will also receive a trip to Washington.
