Friends

Food
Program’s
Board
of
Directors

Friends
of
the
World
Food
Program
(Friends
of
WFP)
announced
that
Samuel
“Sandy”
Berger
and
Hunter
Biden
have
joined
its
Board
of
Directors.
The
two
new
members
will
provide
strategic
guidance
to
help
advance
the
United
Nations
World
Food
Program’s
(WFP)
mission
of
fighting
hunger
worldwide.

of
Sandy
Berger
and
Hunter
Biden
to
Friends
of
WFP’s
Board
of
Directors
brings
vital
experience
and
input
to
the
complex
issue
of
ending
global
hunger,”
said
Randy
Russell,
Chairman
of
the
Friends
of
WFP
Board.
“Addressing
global
hunger
is
a
key
priority
for
the
Obama
administration,
and
we
need
the
experience
that
Sandy
and
Hunter
will
bring
to
our
organization.

ABOUT
THE
NEW
MEMBERS
Sandy
Berger
is
the
co‐chairman
and
co‐founder
of
Stonebridge
International,
LLC
–
an
international
advisory
firm
that
helps
companies
expand
into
foreign
markets.
In
this
position,
Berger
focuses
primarily
on
Asia,
Central
Asia,
Russia
and
the
Middle
East.
Most
notably,
he
served
as
President
Bill
Clinton’s
National
Security
Advisor
from
1997
to
2001,
where
he
played
a
pivotal
role
in
developing
U.S.
foreign
policy.
Previously,
Berger
headed
the
international
trade
group
of
the
Hogan
&
Hartson
law
firm
in
Washington,
DC.
Berger’s
previous
positions
include
Deputy
Director
of
the
State
Department’s
Policy
Planning
Staff,
Special
Assistant
to
former
New
York
City
Mayor
John
Lindsay
and
Legislative
Assistant
to
former
Senator
Harold
Hughes
(D‐
Ia.)
and
Representative
Joseph
Resnick
(D‐N.Y.).
Berger
received
his
B.A.
from
Cornell
University
and
his
J.D.
degree
from
Harvard
Law
School.
Hunter
Biden
is
currently
a
partner
at
Rosemont
Seneca
Partners,
LLC,
and
he
is
Council
to
Boies,
Chiller,
Flexner,
LLP,
a
New
York
law
firm.
From
2006
to
2009,
he
was
on
the
Board
of
Directors
for
Amtrak;
for
the
last
two
years
of
his
term
he
served
as
Vice
Chairman.
Additionally,
Biden
is
the
founding
member
of
the
law
firm
Oldaker,
Biden
and
Belair,
LLP.
President
Clinton
appointed
him
to
be
Executive
Director
of
E‐Commerce
Policy
at
the
United
States
Department
of
Commerce.
Previously,
he
was
a
Senior
Vice
President
at
the
MBNA
America
Bank,
N.A.
He
also
maintains
a
presence
on
the
Board
of
Zero
–
The
Project
to
End
Prostate
Cancer.
In
addition
to
being
an
Honorary
Co‐Chair
of
the
2009
Presidential
Inaugural
Committee,
Biden
also
was
a
member
of
the
Jesuit
Volunteer
Corps.
Biden
received
his
B.A.
from
Georgetown
University
and
his
J.D.
from
Yale
Law
School.
