VNX Calculator
There are two sections at the top depending upon how you want to configure your system
TB Request (Use this where you have a final TB goal)
Drive Qty Request (Uses this where you have a final drive count goal)
Note that only one section should be used at any one time to get a valid configuration
Note that for Drive Qty requests, the drive quantity column will turn red if you choose a quantity of drives that
does not match the raid protection
Choose your Drive Use / Drive Sizes / Raid Configurations
Use File_Default for you Drive Use if there will be a mix of File (NAS) and Block Storage (FC) and you are not sure
of the quantities. This will ensure that you have valid raid configurations, no matter how the final system is
laid
You out
have 8 lines in which to configure a multitude of different drive types and raid configurations for your
system
Choose the number of TB or number of drives for your configuration based upon the section you are filling out
Note that the 1000GB drives can only be used in VNXe configurations at this time and there are limitations on
raid configuration for this drive size
Choose the Drive Size for your Vault Space
These drives will be in addition to the space configured above. Any left over usable space will be calculated.
Add up your Total Drives from Section 1 OR Section 2 PLUS you total vault drives to get your total drives for
entry into DxP
