event. I am aware running or walking in this race can be a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decisions of a race ofcial relative to my ability to complete the run or walk. I also am aware there will be protection provided but there may be trafc on the course. I assume that all stakes associated with my voluntary participation in this event, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including extreme temperatures, trafc and all conditions of the course, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Why Im choosing to donate to the American Cancer Society....

My name is Patrick Ware and I am a senior at Moon Area High School. I am an active participant and captain in Cross Country and am also a member of the track & eld program. I have been running since 7th grade and this was a huge motive for organizing a 5K. This, however, is not the only reason. My main motivation for holding this event is to donate to a certain cause that has directly affected me. My paternal Grandfather, Pete Ware, is currently ghting lymphoma for the third time in his life. My maternal Grandfather, Leonard Parszik, passed away about a year and a half ago from Lung Cancer. Losing a loved one to this disease was very tough, but I promised myself that I would run every race in both of my grandfathers honor. My goal now is to invite all of you out to run for your loved ones who have lost their battle or are possibly still ghting. All proceeds from the race will be donated to the Relay for Life of Pittsburgh West, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Relay for Life of Pittsburgh West is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk that takes place on May 9th at West Allegheny High School. Teams of people camp out around a track and participate in games, activities, and provide entertainment to build camaraderie. It is a family- friendly environment for the entire community.
