(St.

Augustine Church, Barberton, OH) (March 16, 2014)

Second Sunday of Lent

God wants to bless our families. Are we too busy and stressed to accept these blessings? God is present, waiting to meet and bless us in our families, but needs our time and attention. We need to take time together as families to have fun, to talk, to work together, to eat and pray. Schedule some family times in the calendar and see Jesus in the transfiguration of your family members and relationships. 320 Holy Hours were kept with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week Lent is a time to deepen our prayer lives. One way is to pray before the Blessed Sacrament. Spend some time if you can, every day, or maybe once a week, praying in front of Our Lord. Dont just talk---be still and listen. We still have the following opening hours on Sunday: 11-noon, noon-1:00 and 2-3pm. Please contact Judy Soltis if you are able to assist with one of these times.

Adopt a day, save the future. Why pray at abortion facilities? Its not as hard as you think. Prayer at the front lines is especially powerful. We would like to sign up volunteers to donate an hour of their time during our adopted day. Witnesses remain on public property, do not obstruct driveways or sidewalks, they simply pray and hold peaceful signs. Saturday, April 12 from 9:00am to 5:00pm is the day of Witness for St. Augustine. If there is enough interest, we would like to adopt the first Friday of each month from 1-2:00pm. It only takes two people a month to make it happen. Anyone interested in making it happen, please contact Lynn Willig at 330-658-2642.
