IMPFERIAL TRADING LTD. 72-59 KISSENS BLVD FLUSHING, NY 11367 I. DESIGNING THE MASTER MODEL
As always, make full use of tissue undercuts for retention. It is recommended that red pencil is used during designing on the master model.
II.
For free-end cases, be it upper or lower, it is not necessary to remove the distal undercut of the last natural tooth. For free-end saddle cases with anterior teeth replacements, undercuts in the front section should be blocked with wax. Always leave distal undercuts for retention. Placing wax relief on the gingival is important for designs that use finger extensions. An anchor clasp will serve as retentive point for such a situation

SET-UP
The normal method of set-up is followed except when a tooth is to be replaced beside a tooth that will have a spur clasp. Here, one must allow a little more space at the neckline so that the resin material will have some reinforcement from the lingual to the spur.
Mechanical retention of pontics (acrylic type is preferred as this follows the principle of non-breakage) is achieved using retention burs.

With TCS flexible partial cases, there is thinner wax-up compared to conventional acrylic partials. Thickness needed should just be enough to provide support especially at critical junctions and connectors. TCS flexible partials are unbreakable with proper design and with proper processing. There should not be any bulky flanges.
Recommended thickness of the wax pattern: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Palatal thickness: 1.25-1.5mm Buccal & Labial Flange: 1.25-2.0 mm Clasps: 1.0-1.5mm (Always uniform with flange and junction) Lingual Flange: 1.25 2.00 mm Lingual Major Connector [Mandibuloar] : 1.75 2 mm
Wax pattern should include the lower 2/3 of the 3 posterior Teerh/pontics.

IMPFERIAL TRADING LTD. 72-59 KISSENS BLVD FLUSHING, NY 11367 VII. SPRUING
Sprue the case after investment has set; two sprues are normally required from the center sprue opening found at the rear of the flask to the most posterior portion of the wax-up on either side.

BOILING OUT
This is also a normal procedure done on making removable partial dentures wherein after the stone has set, the flask is placed in a hot water bath for 6 to 10 minutes. When the two halves of the flask have been opened, wash out the wax to make sure all residues are eliminated. Let the two halves cool, making sure all steam have evaporated from the flask. Then, apply thin layers of tinfoil substitute on the entire stone surface and again,

allow to dry completely. Do not apply the tinfoil substitute on iinner surfaces of the teeth as this will create gap between the teeth and resin material. When the tinfoil substitute has dried completely, close the two halves of the flask that have cooled down by this time and tighten the bolts securely, in preparation for the next step, INJECTING.

INJECTING
Pre-injection: TCS cartridges should be pre-heated approximately at 122-140 degrees Fahrenheit (50-60 degrees Centigrade) Pre-heat the furnace to approximately 450-475 degrees Fahrenheit Spray with the provided TCS mold release spary the inside of the cylinder provided. It is important to take note that cylinder should always be allowed to warm up in between cycles, for at least 10 minutes before resin materials in tubes are placed inside for melting.
Insert the TCS cartridge into the cylinder with the cap end first.
Then, spray a brass disc as well with the TCS mold release spray provided, before inserting the disc into the cylinder against the end of the tube containing the resin materials. Let the resin material melt (plasticize) for approximately 9 minutes in the furnace. Position the flask with the sprue end up, directly under the shaft of the press; shaft should be raised to indicate injecting of TCS is ready.

After 11 minutes, the cylinder is removed from the furnace. Keep the cylinder in a horizontal position until it is brought above the protrusion at the sprue opening of the flask; the cylinder is then turned to a vertical position. Turn the levers of the press with steady fast motion. Continue applying pressure until tube burst and the springs have compressed, for 3 minutesThen pressure may be released and the levers of the press disengaged.
Remove the flask and separate the cylinder from the flask with slight twisting motion. After removing the cylinder, let the flask cool naturally for at least 30 minutes. Do not speed up cooling by putting the flask into a cold bath. Always let the flask cool naturally. It is important to remember that the cylinder must be pre-heated for 10 minutes BEFORE the next injection. ( for in-between cycles )

Trim the edges of the case with the green or a coarse grinding wheel. Avoid overheating the resin material of the case during finishing.

The case should be smoothen before actual polishing by using smooth grey brown rubber wheels provided with the system.
or
or
The carbide burs (T-84) or Vulcanite burs provided with the system are used to relieve the inside of the case.
Once the sprue-junction on the lingual and palatal surfaces are reduced, lift the case of the model with dull-edge knife or other flat instrument. Clean the tissue surface with a small stiff bristle brush.

As with any denture fabrication, it is always good to remember that festooning and anatomical works be done during waxing and set-up to avoid too much grinding during the finishing and polishing stages. For polishing, start by applying pumice with a wet rag wheel. Then, apply the Tripoli brown compound with a dry rag wheel to produce a smooth but dull-looking finish. During the Tripoli brown compound application, constantly wet the case with water to avoid excessive build-up of heat on the surface of the case.
Next, remove the oil residue from the Tripoli brown compound by using the B-20 brush. This brush can also remove debris that has accumulated in the interproximal areas.
or
Then, rinse the case before applying TCS polishing compound using another dry rag wheel. This TCS polishing compound will produce a high luster. One more step is recommended by using the B-20 brush.

Use a low speed lathe machine with a light touch and always remember that during polishing, one should move the case against the rag wheel, in one direction only.
